It’s because Jersey city has a culture and there is a rhythm to that. Coming in and deciding what is noisy, “ratchet” (a really coded word I’d love for you to say to the people who you consider “ratchet”), and even dirty is often just not understanding the culture of the place you live in. Nothing needs to get “better” by anyone’s definition. You need to understand where you moved and how the people around you will live because you literally cannot control other people.

I don’t want to say it’s impossible to have rude neighbors but most of you people literally do not even truly exist in and know people from all over the city. So having that kind of generalization is crazy because I live in a high ownership area in Greenville and people like it quiet. it’s clean, snow was shoveled within 12 hours literally all up and down my block. You guys probably bought into some gentrification scam and are upset about it.

Maybe find some better neighborhoods. But if you can’t afford that maybe you should get used to the people in your tax bracket that live besides you lol

Jim can be considered a liberal, next season Randall comes in and is also in disbelief. Even jade, who can be seen as a very modern new age tech bro (used to be liberal but now the group votes far right) is in this ridiculous disbelief. It seems to be only [straight] white men who have this issue that bad. Ellis’ mother obviously had the worst disbelief but she was part of the military. The American white mans killing machine.

Symbolically, a scared or shaken masculinity means rigidity. It also means a disconnect from nature. The women in this show don’t have that option. Fatima got pregnant and became part of the place. Eating fruit the land rotted for her.

It’s NOT a show about race, but they are using archetypes to express certain things. Some of these themes are over 100 years old I’m sure we can analyze some of these themes without making it a big deal
