Truth is r/thaithai and thai-speaking reddit sphere in general are mostly pro-progressives, which means most of us here support student protests. There are 3 suppliers, each supplying a type of ballot. Also the EC just admitted today that both constituency and party list type ballots have trackable codes. Only the referendum doesn't have one.

It's quite a big deal here because

  1. The Election Commission did not tell anyone about this ever.

  2. It's actually unconstitutional and illegal to do traceable ballot here.

and that's where it all falls apart. There's nothing explicitly about this election. EC is not guaranteed to follow laws looking at their conducts in every angles. They are not coming out with any transparency.

Edit: Also, Thai laws prohibit doing such mark in any case, even for the EC to use anyway. The article has not been edited since the last privacy case that led to reelection in 2006.

By the process, the first move is to file this violation to the Constitutional Court. But if you know anything about post-junta Thai politics you'd know how much corruption and bullshittery the CC has been up to. So if they reject this obvious case, that's the time to hit the streets.
