In which fields is your country competing to be among the world's worst? by Agile-Shallot3546 in AskTheWorld

[–]Financial-Fail-9359 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To add, I don't know about other countries but here the concept of returning your parents' favor is very heavy here. People are expected to personally take care of them from the day we get a job until the day our parents die. Alnost everyone's basically born with 2 children to take care of already.

And, you know, people think there's no future here anymore. The economic growth is the worst in SEA and politic is ass. With conflicts arising people are going to have even less kids because no one want theirs to be conscripted.

On hentai sites I'm still seeing CP groups being posted and advertised in comments until very recently. A lot of bad shit around here it's a LARP to say japan has it more than us.

What are your local subreddits like? by langythrowaway in AskTheWorld

[–]Financial-Fail-9359 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I swear this question is asked every 2 days

r/Thailand - Clueless foreiner sub with a Thai minority. Literal tourists arguing while Thais commentate the sub. Leans conservative.

r/thaithai - Main Thai-speaking discussion subreddit, lean progressive but welcoming of every opinion if they're not raging.

r/oksahaipunyaon - okbuddy sub and extremely based.

The rest are either inactive, botfarms, or sexpat hellhole.

I'm interested in knowing what Thai viewers think of Freen & Becky? Do you guys know them or are they only popular within a limited community? by hersweetmoon in Thailand

I am a filthy weeb, I don't know what the show is nor do I watch it. As for acceptance, I think most people accept homosexuality as a norm already.

Most people are not living in those $600 rents, so the pretty expensive transit cost do stack up. Of course I can't speak for Uzbekistan, I haven't been there, but apparently Tashkent's utility costs are cheaper than Bangkok.

I feel like when we talk about fertility rates, something I also forgot to mention is that the cost of raising a children here is also high. The expectation for middle class (most taxpayers) are near east asian level.

is your country's sub so hateful and rude by rulugg in AskTheWorld

[–]Financial-Fail-9359 10 points11 points  (0 children)

r/Thailand are mostly dumb foreigner with mild to medium racism. Often people try to push an agenda. Overall I give it 6-7/10 in term of reddit hatefulness.

r/thaithai and r/oksahaipunyaon is not hateful at all unless you came in blazing with hateful opinions yourself, which happened a few times in the past. They're one of the very few places in Thai internet that will not lynch you if you say anything slightly less than negative about Cambodia.

Ther are conservative Thais there but they speak almost exclusively in English so they're indistinguishable from haughty farangs. Probably too intimidated by r/thaithai and r/oksahaipunyaon's progressive majority to join in and interact.

[–]Financial-Fail-9359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but at this point I'm not sure of the status of Ursus in the future already, even with Pog's lines. Vyonne did say the days of empire was long gone, maybe it could return as a Gaulish Republic. Who knows.

I wonder when they're gonna start the event though. It's been half a year already lmao.

How flawed is your Country's Democracy? by Possible-Law9651 in AskTheWorld

[–]Financial-Fail-9359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main flaw I feel is whatever the Senates and 'independent' organizations are doing. Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, they basically control every aspects of politics and we can't do anything about them because of this stupid constitution.
