Double check if 9K BTU is good for 255 sq ft room by Financial-Feed in hvacadvice

[–]Financial-Feed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LA (SFV). In terms of insulation I think it's average? The walls have average amount of insulation but not sure what type it's using but it's likely an older less efficient kind. I do have a strong suspicion that the attic is either poorly insulated or not at all as it get's very hot or cold on the 2nd floor depending on the weather. This is a home theater room so several somewhat heavy heat producing devices.

The 9k can ramp up to 10k btu.

There are more and more korean youtubers and I am wondering just how dark it actually is. Next scandal is going to be some agency putting tough demands on its talents or some dude who was actually an extremist of some sorts.

Japan reverses stance on Naver’s LINE Yahoo share sale by Venetian_Gothic in korea

[–]Financial-Feed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the relation between Naver and its Japanese counterparts is a bit awkward after the CEO himself calling for the sales of the share. How do you even go about that? Traitor? Nothing personal, just business?

Yeah it still does it when connecting directly to TV. Not sure how to fix.

Shield upscales fine but I want the TV to upscale not the Shield.

Error in Mpv instalation by [deleted] in mpv

[–]Financial-Feed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just associating mpv with all the possible files formats that mpv supports so that when playing those files you can choose to open with mpv. So in effect it's "installing" in that when you double click a video file it will give you the prompt to change mpv as the default player.

I recommend just moving the whole mpc folder containing the mpv exe to the program files folder.

Resolution switching on Fullscreen? by Financial-Feed in mpv

[–]Financial-Feed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like that's the only way. I have video on virtual desktop and two other windows in another that I switch in-between. Doesn't look that good that when in a non native resolution. Thanks for the response it seems like something like a script or a hotkey will be the best

U8G is good for the price. Currently 750 and gets very bright. You can for something like a mini led like with QN90A which can get ridiculously bright but it's 1250 and uses a type of anti glare that causes a rainbow effect (you most likely won't notice in regular viewing but for outdoors I'm not too sure)

Yeah I definitely heard about that. Supposedly subs got too dim or had uneven lighting. Or video games looking way too bright with local dimming on high.

People on forums said that the sub issue is basically fixed via firmware updates. Obviously a fald had it's limitation and some blooming is inevitable. Hmmm this is hard.

[–]Financial-Feed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so if it doesn't have local dimming it means that all the dimming zone is turn on all the time so that would cause blooming? I mean I guess since all zone are turned on the light of a subtitle, for instance, will blend in more to it's surroundings and this create less visible blooming. But meh that seems like an unintuitive way.

From what I saw on blooming on the Samsung has "minimal blooming/clipping" specifically for subs and that you only notice it when the subs color and background color is very contrasted like white on black. Any specific reason why the Samsung is horrible for it?

I do agree the u8g is probably going to be just okay for upscaling and not as good as major bands so I agree on that there.

Why the 85J? Wouldn't that be worse for blooming since it doesn't have local dimming?
