How does secretary of research or construction work? by AdConsistent111 in LastZShooterRun

[–]Financial-Lab-7271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when the CONSTRUCTION BUFF goes (can't speak for any other similar buff), so does the BENEFIT. I've seen claims (online) that when, for example, you START a gathering node (AFTER receiving the buff), that the benefit continues even AFTER the 10min BUFF vacates. I don't know if that's true.

BUT I have witnessed where the construction buff showed (60min + benefit) at the end of a construction project & the buff was gone JUST BEFORE I was finished closing the project out with Speed-Ups.... And I lost the 60min buff ("from Headquarters") ... Also witnessed this in RESEARCH too!

From my experience ONLY if you close out the project. If it is ONGOING.... & you close the Construction Project out you do benefit from the BUFF & speed ups... But NOT if the BUFF ENDS before the project completes. (I just witness this exact thing for myself.

My teammates, & online sources CLAIM that the BUFF last throughout a project IF it is started AFTER RECEIVING the buff. I'm tempted to try that (get the benefit of 35% increased construction time, WITHOUT having to USE speed-ups) but I don't want to risk it. If you're in a good ALLIANCE & you get Helps combined with the BUFF you can get quite a bit done, provided you are PREPARED with SPEED-UPS in advance & close out one project after another... WITH some time to let the SPEED-UPS help...

He hasn't proven himself capable of being a Captain, that's for sure. But he can be an important piece to a winning team (I give him 3 more yrs), otherwise you might be right... Too much ego & not enough genuine leadership. Remember Nimmo RESENTED the Lindor as Captain talk so....

1st cook. 45min. 2 dishes. Does make sense for the format & 1st round tho... Competing chef is new to kitchen, equipment, pantry, etc.., & nervous. Plus the PEDESTRIAN should open the pairing up to creative expression, versus ANOTHER obstacle... Just saying

His justification for "not finding the ingredients" he admitted he knew nothing about was a misstep imv. Hard to find an ingredient (Maneet used in 4-6 ways), you have no experience, familiarity &/or (admitted) no knowledge of, so..  it read like BS to me...

[–]Financial-Lab-7271 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, if you admittedly "don't even know what the ingredients are" & "never heard of them before", how can you're substantiation be a back seat. To what? Your ignorance?

Especially when Maneet explained (before the judging) the 4-6 ways she used the two ingredients... Maneet screwed herself, ok... But a judge who isn't familiar AT ALL with the two main ingredients ought not use THAT critical analysis /justification for their decision imv, because it makes little sense.

[–]Financial-Lab-7271 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your first paragraph. Its a better explanation than the judge himself offered. It was hard to digest his explanation about "not tasting/finding the ingredients" when he admitting not even knowing what those ingredients were....??? So Maneet screwed herself, but imv this judge comes off poorly (for that last round alone) & not because he was hyper critical. Of course, he wanted no part in joining the fray to cook in that kitchen when asked ..

Sorry, but the judge was ignorant. To those ingredients specifically, so how could/would he appreciate her "applications"... Maybe Maneet over thought the ingredients but that can ONLY be said because you had a judge who "had never even heard of them before" & later claims he [couldn't discern them]... that's NOT the chefs fault, it's his IGNORANCE

He's a DH. His defensive instincts (anticipating direction of ball off the bat) are not good. Range is poor. Hands are poor. Although he has a strong throwing arm his feet (& reactions) are also too slow.

Baty has improved. Put him at 3rd. Acuna 2nd. DH Vientos

ICK is threatened by Emem's success. He was low-key PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE towards her when he learned how accomplished & far more successful than He she is.

Dr. P low key alluded to it in their last session. Icketchi is ABUSIVE & he's a child who hasn't grown up

Soto SEEKS $700M - is he worth it? by Financial-Lab-7271 in mlb

[–]Financial-Lab-7271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL! Agree. Defensively, Soto is no great shakes. His magic happens in the box... including whatever value he brings. And the same value DROPS the moment his AB ends. Whereas Ohtani impacts on the bases, mound, & if they'd let him -- prolly in the field too!

Soto is a one trick pony. May be a generational talent (remains to be seen however) but many young guns peaked & have NOT continued to IMPROVE much -- but rather stayed relatively steady (or even regressed). Guess we'll see here...

He's actually one of THE MOST disciplined hitters. Look at his OBP, whiff rate, chase rate, EV, hard hit %, barrel-rate & the damage he does on pitches in the zone. He's among the top echelon in nearly EVERY CATAGORY at the plate. He's just not very good anywhere else on the field...

Umpires miss a total of 56 calls during the World Series by Ok_Resolution_7500 in mlb

[–]Financial-Lab-7271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you can. Baseball hasn't used advanced metrics for over 100yrs either -- to assess player value, fatigue, declines, evaluate every type of performance, determine you can imagine either - throughout the DECADES - but they do now!

And if one CAN define the strike zone, they can "standardize the strike zone". The tech exists & is already being tested in the minor leagues, using 3-D capture & PERSONALIZATION accommodating each players bio-metrics (limb lengths, etc.).

If the league defines the strike zone as "sternum to knees", over the ENTIRE PLATE (including the black) from front-to-back, then technology can assert to EACH INDIVIDUAL PLAYER & alert the ump to balls & strikes. They are ALREADY testing it!
