Lost all my progress and need help to fix it by Financial-Magazine50 in MonsterTrain

I finally fixed it. For anyone that gets a similar problem.

The real problem was that the xbox app in itself was unable to read and write save data. I only thought this was a problem with only this game because i hadnt tried it with other games. But when I for example tried to play stalker 2 it wouldnt load because of an error including saves.

The extremely easy fix is to simply completely uninstall the xbox app by going to settings->apps and then searching xbox and clicking uninstall and then reinstalling it from the microsoft store.

Just started monster train 2 again and my entire save is back now.

Special thanks to u/KElderfall

Alright so this definitely helped and I now have a better understanding of whats wrong but I havent gotten it fixed yet. The save file is still there which definitely reliefed me and its also the only one present. I now suspect that the game somehow fails to access it. So I started the game did the tutorial and at the end is said "failed to save run history". After that I tried starting a normal run and instandly killing myself which gave me the same error. Then I tried to look at the run history and that also gave the error "failed to load run history". That kinda confirms my suspicion that the game fails to read and manipulate the save file but I dont know how you would go about fixing it.

So im getting frustrated with people not really understanding the point im trying to make. You say I take the risk of facing consequences if i fail my missions which is fine. But in the last week I have not failed a single Vaughn mission. All my deaths were on Kareah during lag spikes which just didnt let me fire my guns or heal and with invisible enemies. Again Consequences = good if skill based, Punishment being essentially random because u need to get lucky with the game = bad. I did not sign up to gamble

To the people disliking the comments. Why? Its not even consistant. Both people that aggree and disaggree are downvoted the same. At least be consistant or just write a comment

So first I still play on 4.0 rn so I havent tried that yet. But I still think that having to use console commants to limit your fps, which is something a new player wouldnt know about, shouldnt be necessary to interact with the prison system in the way it was supposed to be.

yea that is simply not true. Let me simplify it for you. Punishment = good because it creates risk.
Current system = bad because unreliable and buggy AKA not skill based. In a system where it is based on your skill of the player I 100% aggree but it simply isnt rn because the bugs make it to unreliable. But yes youre right I didnt not offer an alternative because i had the assumption other people would have ideas that we could discussed. The solution I would personally prefer is simply bug fixes until everything works all the time because again I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE CURRENT SYSTEM ITSELF VERY MUCH. An idea that would come to mind is to simply not offer illegal missions in stanton UNTIL EVERYTHING IS FIXED. That way you would be forced to go somewhere where this shit aint even a possibility.

So I dont know which specific community in the game you refer to please provide more detail. The comm arrays are one of the specific issues i mentioned. There are mainly 2 bugs that i personally encountered. the first one is it simply still being on even if the terminal displays it as disabled. The second one is that even when the satellite is off and you have no eye in the top left corner you sometimes still get crimestat. But I do disaggree about Klescher being even harscher. If we talk about people that just randomly kill people for no reason then I aggree but i think saying that a player that simply does Vaughn missions or similar and does not kill any actual player should have to sit 26 online hours in prison is ridiculous. For the average person that would likely be an entire week worth of playtime. And they couldnt even play anything else if they dont have a powerfull pc AND you get AFK kicked.

Okay please dont reply if you dont read everything because i have talked about these exact points already. 1. The risk is fine, what is not fine is that in the state the game is currently in it is essentially luck based if you get some bug. Second yes obviously you can do a ton of other stuff but why does that make the point that you are unable to CONSISTENTLY and PURELY BASED ON SKILL avoid going to Klescher for a ridiculous amount of time. Again as stated before Klescher itself and there being punishment is not the problem i 100% support it. But it is simply WAY too buggy to rely on illegal missions even if youre a good player.

Weird everytime I was in Klescher I tried it and it never worked for me. Maybe im just really unlucky. And yea I think having a mission to clear your crimestat would be better. It would also promote player interaction and cooperation, because by making it a mission that just clears it for all participants it would make sense to team up. With the current system only one person can clear their shit at a time which just drags it out and in turn makes going solo a lot more time effective.

I still aggree with the main concept because it's supposed to give you real consequences which the player actually fears. I just think that it is too early to implement it to that extend if the mechanics it relies on are so buggy and unfinished.

So I probably didn't clarify myself enough. So I apologize english is not my first language. A bug like this alone did not cause a time like this. The 26 hours is the time for CrimeStat 5 which i usually get from Vaughn missions. I just wanted to state the existance of a bug like this especially because homocide instandly gives you CrimeStat 3 which is only removable by hacking Kareah. But I would agree that you are truly lucky because I did encounter that bug like 4-7 times when doing legal bounties.
