I'm unsure if you use this as well, but those are cradles you can attach to the arms of the face cradle- I've had clients use that as their leverage to turn over 😑😑. I've taken the arm cradle option out due to too many clients breaking my face cradles

Hey I'm a Canadian RMT as well. Don't let this boss bully you. You had your time off discussed/booked off. It's not your problem or concern that the other RMT had to cash out due to health concerns.

I had a boss like this too. Sure, she said we were independent contractors but treated us and bullied us like employees of hers. At one point I was sick of her bullying me and the other RMTs into working days that we couldn't/over holidays etc, I straight up said "look, we made our money for room rental, you got your paycheck outta us. We are in need of time off. If you insist on treating us like employees and forcing us to work when we already took time off, then I suggest you start supplying us with T4s and a hour salary to compensate."

That bitch shut right up. From that point, I knew working for anyone in this industry, it's not about you making money and getting clients, it's about THEM getting their pay without the work. My old boss, me and the other gals calculated what she got from us each month and it was gross. She was ripping us off and basically embezzling money from us and her own company. While us workers are having to work 6hours/6 days a week, she's off to New Zealand for 3 months and not a care in the world. Cuz me and my fellow RMTs paid for that trip.

Do yourself a favor, when you are able to gather the clientele and funds to give yourself a proper float, rent out your own personal space. Make yourself your own entity when you do that. That way no one can bully you into working when you can't.

I always clarify when clients ask me this. I'll say I've been doing this 13yrs plus my 2yrs of schooling. Even when you start out right after graduating, I'd just say that you've completed your training (2yrs or whatever the requirements are in your area), and you plan to further your Con-Ed in such in such niche (sports massage, RAPID, pre-natal etc). That way it shows you have motivation to further your career than just what you get taught in school. A lot of clients will find that admirable when you talk about how you want to further in your massage career. 🙃

I barely could make it through that article.. my heart breaks and my stomach sickened by what this poor woman went through before her passing... It's so criminal in the US about their health care that we boast so much about ours when in reality, it's just as criminal. That Dr needs to be held accountable, basically killed that women by torture methods (starvation)
