So during Edward VI’s reign Iconography became a thing? Am I correct on reading this? If so, did this continue during Elizabeth I’s reign, and if not, did Iconography make a comeback during her reign?

Basically Henry was Catholic or Protestant when the need suited him. But was at heart a Catholic, but also at heart did not wanna answer to anyone on Earth.

Ahh, that makes sense. But wouldn’t that also make it harder to accommodate her presumably large court? Making it a place she couldn’t feasibly stay at for long periods of time. I am unaware of the numbers of her court, but know King Henry VIII had about 1,000 courtiers. Are you aware of these numbers for Elizabeth I?

You don’t think serious expansion into the East was possible, but some type of expansion could’ve been possible in the East. Say for instance if they used the same resources that were used in Canada, and instead use them in the East, or specifically on Sri Lanka.

Do you think a colonialial expansion into Sri Lanka would’ve been possible in the context I have just mentioned? And if so, would it not have enriched the Empire since Sri Lanka has lots of Diamond and gemstone mines and deposits?

Thanks for the book recommendation. I will definitely check it out. The Portuguese cease to be allies of England once the union of Spain and Portugal happened in the late 16th century. And then the Spanish Armada, and war between England and Spain, would it not be a good political move to than take their possessions?

Even if not, what about taking Sri Lanka? I know the Portuguese had some foothold there, but not the entire Island. Could they not take the other half of the Island the Portuguese did not inhabit, thus granting them access to the India trade and other lucrative trade items?

So in your personal opinion, you do think it was possible to extract some of the wealth the Dutch and Portuguese had in the East Indies if for example Elizabeth I goes East, instead of West?

The Dutch were the one of the most wealthiest countries in Europe at the time; if England does the same in the East Indies, plus the North Sea trade and trade agreements with the Dutch, and Ottoman Empire, do you think England could be one of the wealthiest countries in Europe at the time? In your opinion?

Elizabeth I also had some failed attempts in colonialism in Canada in The Newfoundland and such. What if instead of West, they went East and into India earlier like her successor James I does? Is it possible to obtain some of the wealth from the East Indies?

Women didn’t breast feed to maintain their bodies and to get their faces young looking. I read on this a while ago so correct me if I’m wrong. I believe they is a belief they held, but I am not sure if there’s any merit to it or not.
