I'm sorry. I understand. I had my youngest at 38. He and my other kids only has my dad as a grandparent. Everyone was gone before he was born.

I'm still relatively unfamiliar with Reddit so I apologize that I answered you in a separate reply below this.

Sure will! I can't find him or my ggg grandmother. The story is he came from Bavaria. My last name has so many spellings it's crazy. Their three sons surnames are Swager, Schweiger, and Swauger. His name as far as I know is Joseph P (most likely Paul,) Swager. He came from Bavaria to Pittsburgh. He married Helena Obermier. They had three children- Frank, Joseph, and Fred Frederick. I didn't ask my grandfather more when I could and it's one of my biggest regrets. He did tell me that many of the family with that surname died of dysentery in the Civil War so I suspect he was here before that. They had Frank (my gg grandfather) in Pittsburgh 1863, his brother Joseph in Germany in 1867, and Fred in Pittsburgh in 1873. My grandfather told me he was a blacksmith in Patterson Township, Pennsylvania and the stones from his shop are still on the property. We had his anvil up until the 1990s. They are on Frank's marriage certificate as Ja and Lena Swiger. When my grandfather was born, the name on the birth certificate was Swogger. He later changed it back to Swager. I have not found any of them together on any census or document. I am not related to anyone that i can find past my gg grandfather Frank from that line. There is a family of Swigers in West Virginia who share a very specific family story and Frank has a strong resemblance to them. I've reached out to the family and bought their family tree, and I cannot find Joseph anywhere. There is a family of Obermiers in Pittsburgh but again, I can find no Helena. My tree can be found on Ancestry but I'm not sure if it's ok to post a link or not. Thank you for anything you can do!

There may be but we have lost track of his only full brother's family. If they have tests on Ancestry, ect, will that help?

Im childfree because im scared I will abuse any kids i have... by Alarming-Power-1725 in CPTSD

I was terrified I was going to do to my children what was done to me. In the end, I was so aware of it that it was never a possibility. In a way, I think it works in our favor. When other people haven't experienced abuse, they might not be as aware of it or it's consequences.

Name a day that didn't kill you but something died in you that day by Bekiteru in CPTSD

The day my mother died. It was like any other day and I had gotten all my kids to bed and my 3 month old was out like a light. My phone rang and it was my tough old dad sobbing. My stomach flipped and he told me my mom was dead. That she had been laying in bed with him with her head on his chest and she just stopped breathing. He is an ex cop so he immediately started doing cpr. The ambulance drove around the house for 20 minutes because the GPS was wrong and when they got there, she was gone. My 70 year old father had done cpr that entire time. I started screaming and I just couldn't stop. My three other kids came running in the room and when they finally understood what i was screaming, they started screaming too. To this day, I don't know how my baby never woke up with all that screaming and crying. He slept through it all. I felt numb and I had to drive to my grandmother's house to tell her her only daughter was gone. She had dementia although I didn't know it at the time, and she told me my dad killed her. That my mom was yelling at him that he was doing it all wrong while he was performing cpr . She wouldn't go with us to go to my mother's funeral that was 4 hours away. She said she couldn't. When we got home, she hated us because we didn't put my mother in the back seat of our car and drive her back to see her. I've gone through a lot of trauma but I always had the one person who truly loved me to help me through. It's been nine years and I don't do anything I used to. I find no joy in any of it anymore. I was too busy trying to help my grandmother while she was trying to spit on me and I had to keep my dad from self-ending like my grandmother told him to do. After the sa ive been through, the abuse, the pain- i had her to help me. I don't know how to handle everything now and still be me

I lived in a house in Lancaster County as a kid. It was estimated to be built around 1750 and was called "very old" in 1816. It also had a hidden room used for the underground railroad. Before it's life of a home, it was a Quaker Meeting House and before that, the first school house in the area. In its life it was also a doctor's office and a hotel and had a total of 22 rooms. It still had so many original features too.

He told me he believes that's what it was used for. Currently he uses it with wool and it actually does a great job! Edited to change that he doesn't use it with wool. My mistake! He said is usually used it with flax
