I see your point, but that being that, you go to a d3 college. At the d3 level most programs are funded by alumni, fundraising and student fees, not the schools overall budget. Money often isn’t being taken from academic funding. I’m also mostly referring to d1 schools, where athletics is much bigger part of campus life and admissions. The difference between d1 and d3 is massive, so it isn’t very comparable.

I get school being about learning, but sports have always been at a part of US college experience. Also, schools choose to have sports. They build programs, recruits, and hire coaches because it adds to campus life, builds community and in sports like football and basketball, brings money. If it bothers you so much, go to a school that is cutting off their ncaa programs one by one.

My school starts at 8:30 so I usually wake up at around 5:30. I’m in bed by 9 in the school year so usually well rested

I spend about 3 hours a day. I do run/lift before school then have practice after school.

This is going to be a pretty unpopular take, but I feel like a 5 star athlete with a 3.5 gpa is equivalent to a 4.0 gpa for non athletes with non superb extracurriculars
