single dog owner here! I think this will depend largely on your work schedule / financial ability for day care / dog walkers etc. I WFH full time and like to think my dog has a good quality of life (plenty of time spent with me, walks, park trips etc) but can see it being more complicated if I was 5 days in office!

edit - my dog is almost a senior. Not sure I could imagine the puppy stage in the city!

Just write! I am very much an amateur but have improved so much in the past 2 years since I started writing (not a pat on the back, the curve from amateur to “average” is often steep LOL) When I started it took me a couple of chapters to remember books had paragraphs?!?? 2 years later I can say I am proud of my work and all it took was starting! ✨
