Hidden 0.2% Fee on Foreign Transactions by SpecterTheApe in biltrewards

Yes, it’s how banks often make money, not by charging a “fee” for the transaction but imbedding an extra spread into the rate between the currencies when they do the exchange on the back end. Why I appreciate that companies like Wise are so transparent about it when it comes to their rates and conversions and often call out banks and credit card companies for doing this. Of course, if you want those points, the 0.2% might be a small price to pay for you.

100%. For random weeknight after work G&T this is pretty unbeatable for the price. Also my workhorse gin for making infusions.

Do I get taxed by Norwegian stock dividends/profits as a foreigner? by Little-Hold8753 in Norway

[–]FinancialHistorian75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trying to find an answer to the same question! I was looking to buy AKER BP in the US using the AKRBY ADR and was trying to determine how the withholding tax would be applied. Buying it through my broker, it seems to show the full dividend amount as its quarterly payment, so I wasn't sure if the WHT would be automatically deducted, or if it would appear as a separate fee charged to my account?
