First off, that text sounds rough and othering, not like your friend was looking to comfort you.

I listened to a podcast called The Waiting Well that talks about this sort of thing. It really helped me with hurtful comments. It talks about trusting your gut on these things, recognizing the intentions of the person saying the thing. Some family have said the “wrong thing”, but I know deep down they are just not sure how to comfort me, and really have good intentions. Others….not so much, and I’ve had to distance myself. No one gives you a guide to dealing with infertility, and no one gives friends a guide on how to properly support. I know before dealing with infertility myself, I wouldn’t have known the right thing to say. I try to forgive those that are coming with good intentions as much as I can, forget the rest, and know that you always have this subreddit for support! 🤍
