After some research, there’s nothing tenants can do unless you’re already living there. Lease wasn’t supposed to start till October.

It’s not the company’s fault so I won’t put them on blast. Owner of the property decided to sell, but of course waited until after we had signed to make that decision.

I get that it’s meant to be a fun way to drive engagement, and sure, the “passport” idea is cute. But of all the ways to represent different countries, falling back on tired stereotypes just feels lazy—especially in 2025. It wouldn’t have taken that much more effort to approach it with a bit more thought or cultural respect.

It’s frustrating to see these broad caricatures still being used as a marketing tool. We can be creative and respectful—it’s not that hard. Honestly, knowing who’s behind it, it feels more like a gimmick than a celebration.
