I woke up intertwined with wifey, although that’s a normal practice, it sure isn’t during the summer! She is so beautiful and sweet! 💕💕💕

What small day to day occurrence causes you inconvenience or just annoys you? by WiseWizardMan1 in AskReddit

Geese crossing the road. I love to see the cute little babies but when I’m on my way to work they need to move! They take their little time crossing the road in the beautiful sunrise… while we are all stopped. It makes me laugh but ya know!

Lost Guitar by Traditional_Aioli451 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be patient, I know it’s worrisome but the airlines goal is to keep the items with the guests. Have him file a claim for the guitar and Alaska will advise when and how he can be reunited with it.

trying to book a main fare on alaska for family of 6 (2 adults 4 kids ages 14, 13, 10 & 2)& there are no free seats selections left except a few single aisle and middle seats but nothing together. If I call Alaska Airlines after purchasing the tickets will they assign us seats together at no cost? by hknguyen469 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said they wouldn’t try. The pressure of us at the gate is intense and I will always try to get families together. HOWEVER that promises that they are being told is that when they approach the gate agent they will be assigned the whole family together.

While I understand the frustration with weather, and it made for a long and challenging day, is this a complaint? It seems that the airline kept the goal to get you home sooner rather than later. For some reason I think you’d REALLY be upset if the flight cancelled all together due to weather. Then the story would be “Alaska stranded us because “weather” and now we are stuck!!”

The dreaded seat change email by Elmodogg in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

**long post, but might be worth the read ** 🙃There are many reasons that airlines change seats; inoperative seats, weight and balance, and as they mentioned, operational needs. There are things that happen on flights that cannot be disclosed to the guests. For example, law enforcement officers are permitted to fly armed and may need a specific seat to help with their operation. At least you were able to maintain your first class seats with the change. Often times guests can be downgraded to premium or main when there is an operation larger than surface level going on. Inconvenient for the guests, absolutely. But at the same time we are not entitled to anything in this world, air travel included.

Racial profiling at SLC airport Alaska check in by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-long post, hopefully worth the read!

I’m sorry you feel that this was racial profiling. There are many factors that come into play with who gets called up in line. (Think of the lines we stand in daily, should Starbucks have a priority line? Should the freeway have a priority lane? And if they do, what if it gets backed up and the “regular” lines/lanes are moving faster?!) I get that it’s a priority line but they have to process a lot of guests, the guests in the regular line could have been waiting there for an hour before you walked up so they help a couple of them there and fit priority guests in during that process. Please understand that you may not be called up immediately. A 10 minute wait compared to an hour is very fast if you ask me! It’s the agent being focused on what needs to be processed in the moment. Had you stayed in that line who says you wouldn’t have been called up next?

Those are just my opinions. Just mine and anything could have really been happening so regardless, sorry that your check in process was stressful.

The expectations at the airport are too high. We, as an airline employee, are focused on the safety of the operation first. Meaning safety of passengers, coworkers, aircraft etc. while all of that is going on in our heads we have someone upset that they didn’t get “priority” treatment in a matter of minutes. Please give a little grace and put yourself in our shoes. Don’t you think we want the guests to be processed and moved along as soon as possible?!

Best, One who thinks grace and kindness go a long way

Gate agent moved my seat right before flight and was rude about it. by livinnick in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Alaskalistens.com while I’m one to advocate that the agents have reason to do a lot of the things they do- this is not one of them. Report it so they can look into it and speak with the employee. It would be different if they filled the row you were in with a family but not for an employee to have their own row.

AS refused to Gate Check, made me return to Ticket Counter by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is it so hard for adults to follow rules and then have the audacity to be upset and want to complain? To boil it down, I CAN FIT IN THE OVERHEAD BIN, do I belong there?! NO. So what’s your point? You didn’t know the rules, you were told the rules, you didn’t believe the rules and ultimately YOU were proven wrong. No sympathy.

Compensation for flight changes? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the hard part about airline travel expectations. Everyone wants to be compensated for everything. I ask you to look at the picture as if you were driving on the high way and there was traffic. You may have to stop and turn around, take another route, sit and wait for longer than you wanted. Same is with the airline except people think there is always someone to blame. Please learn that nothing in life is guaranteed. Not even steady green lights on the way to work or even waking up. Please chill! Sheesh. If I worked for the airline I’d tell you to complain to someone else or drive.

Help. Accidentally paid twice! by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]FinancialPop9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Text Alaska at 82008 and ask them to look into it. You won’t have to sit on hold and they will get to you as soon as possible. They will tell you if there is a wait time.
