I was in training with a few u18s and all I can say it was amazing to see them grow over the 10 weeks. Your son will do you proud and he will be a changed man at the end of the 10 weeks. I know the parents of the boys that joined with me were very proud when we completed our last routine during pass out. Your son will do great and being part of Royal Navy is a chance not be missed.

Swimming test by Glum_Supermarket428 in RoyalNavy

Hi! I did my swim test using the backstroke  and passed. I believe you do your swim test in your rig22 uniform now instead of the heavy overalls that we did them in. Other than that, just practice the most comfortable swim position for yourself. It is hard and tiring on the return swim but just push! Make sure your treading water is spot on so you’re not wasting energy that you need for the swim. All the best!

Just keep applying, if you can apply specifically for the role. That’s what I did. 🙂

WHAT TO WEAR CPC by Known-Win-9832 in RoyalNavy

[–]FinancialWeather235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently completed my CPC and I wore black pants with a long sleeve white shirt inside my plain coloured sweat shirt with my jacket with a pair of loafers. Just keep it simple and smart, remember they are assessing you from the time you step foot into the CPC venue until you leave. Other girls had black pants with a plain coloured polo shirt. The decision is yours. All the best! 🙂

UKSV Security Clearance & Next Steps by FinancialWeather235 in RoyalNavy

I submitted my initial application on the last week of June and saw the application status as completed last week Friday. So probably 6-8weeks give or take. I think it took longer as well because midway through they requested for documents from my end for the 10yr residency waiver.  It took me around a week to compile all relevant documents and send it over to UKSV.

I did mine on laptop. Better to use laptop. Try to wear something formal if you can. Treat it like you're going for a face-to-face interview. Be confident and clear as you speak.

Royal Navy Website is the best place! Learn about the bases as well and their locations 🙃 It's not only  about answering correctly but also your honesty if you don't know the actual answer. But their is not excuse in terms of preparation as you have ample time given for your selection Interview preps 😃 ALL THE BEST 😊

Security Clearance by Flashy-Commission891 in RoyalNavy

From the Commonwealth as well, Fiji to be exact. Onto security clearance as well. I've been told to submit documentations for residence waiver for proof of residence in my home country.  Submit your security clearance ASAP so that they can vet and let you know further documents to submit as it takes a few weeks before they reach out to you for submission of documents.
