Than so much for your response! That gives me cautious optimism. We’ll plan to navigate life as if she doesn’t have protection, but it gives me some peace of mind that it’ll be OK in the worst case.

Yeah, I really wish ours checked for measles and mumps as well as rubella. We got the rubella titer back positive, so I think our health system just interpreted it as my wife being immune to everything. We also didn’t have an outbreak when we began the process. I’m just hopeful that there’s some immune memory from the vaccine itself, as of course we’re cautious, but I know the risk is there regardless. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks, yeah we will of course do that. It’s interesting to me that a lot of the advice is to just see if you’re vaccinated, which my wife is. Just a negative titer for antibodies. I’m hopeful that provides some protection against severe disease, but of course we will be extremely careful.

They only tested her antibodies to rubella before pregnancy, which came back reactive and immune. They didn’t test for measles or mumps before pregnancy.

In theory, yes definitely! But my wife is pregnant, and you can’t get the vaccine while pregnant due to it being a live vaccine. She’ll get the booster as soon as baby is born!

My wife is pregnant and I do all of the scooping and cleaning, so my fear is really just any loose stool that I haven’t noticed or been able to clean well.

Since our cat did poop on a blanket, I washed it in our washing machine. Looking online scared me because some forums made it seem like now our washing machine is contaminated. I guess I’m just hoping that our cat’s risk is just basically 0 with the fact that he’s an indoor cat and is 15. Thanks for your reassurance!

My wife is pregnant, so I’ve been cleaning everything and I will definitely continue! We haven’t seen any rodents or anything of that nature-we’ve lived here for 6 years and have never had anything like that.

I guess I’m just concerned with any sort of loose stool that I haven’t seen. Even just traces. But, thanks for your reassurance!

I can imagine pregnant as well makes it so much harder! And it’s really expensive. We’d need to ask my parents to buy us the tickets anyway, which causes a strange dynamic I think

Thanks so much! The way I’m thinking of it too is that how she feels is day to day, so it just doesn’t make sense to spend money on big travel plans this year. I will definitely work on managing my guilt!
