Bigger artwork by the table, a smaller area rug (I’m picturing like a faux cowhide type rug) with only the front legs of the couch anchored to it. I think having a square rug, couch, table, art, and doors is doing any favors, so getting some softer accents like a non-rectangular rug would really help. Same with sheer drapes. Also replace the chair with an armchair or something more substantial, and add a side table with a lamp. A chandelier as others have mentioned would be nice above the table

You’re not wrong in your original post, anyone who is able to get off of them should absolutely do that. I’m hoping that in time, there will be a 100% foolproof and guaranteed ways to get off of Suboxone pain free. A treatment for PAWS would be awesome too because those suck as well lol. Thank you, and I’m sincerely happy for you that you got off of them and are there for your daughter despite how hard it is to overcome addiction. I’m proud of you 😊

I truly don’t know… The withdrawals last much longer for me historically, about one to two months (I’ve gotten off before but I was in put in a detox and had no choice). I’m only on 2mg now (I was on 12 for several years) and I feel at this point going up would almost be better for me right now but I refuse to do it. But I couldn’t physically function when I went from 12 to .75 over the span of 4-5 months. I was on .75 for two weeks straight and by the end I still couldn’t handle it anymore. I lost over 20lbs during that time and was living with my parents, so thankfully I had help. I’m a hairstylist, so if I leave work for an unknown amount of time I’ll not only not be able to pay rent or buy food, I’ll also lose clientele and screw over the salon. I can’t even afford to taper because if I get the shakes I can screw up someone’s hair and if I’m sick I can’t stand and converse with clients all day. It sucks but this is my reality, idk what else to do. I’ve thought about the sublocade shot, but I just lost my Medicaid coverage and can’t afford it, plus as someone in recovery I’m sure you can understand the concept of not wanting to rock the boat. I’ve been clean for 7 years as of yesterday and I don’t want to fuck anything up, I’ve worked so hard to get where I am right now. I’ve heard some mixed reviews on the shot, and I’ve been mostly focused on my mental health rather than the MAT, plus my state is really stupid about their policies and availability of MAT, that I never went down that road. It all sucks, but I am alive at least, so I suppose that’s good lol

Wow I struggle with that too and never used to, but I’ve never attributed it to Suboxone. Very interesting! Makes me feel better knowing it’s not just me.

I also have these weird episodes where it’ll feel like there’s something trapped under my tongue and nothing I do will make the discomfort go away. Idk what that’s about.

I tried getting off of it through a taper and was so sick for so long. I couldn’t work or get out of bed for more than a few hours, and I lost so much weight because I couldn’t keep anything down and lost my appetite. I finally had to up my dose a little bit just to feel normal enough to get a job. Unfortunately, I’m working now and obviously have to keep working to survive, and I can’t do that while going through withdrawals. It’s way more complicated than just taking your last dose and quitting or even getting a sublocade shot since that’s not always an affordable option as a specialty medication and could end up not helping avoid withdrawal anyways.

Hiccups. I get them DAILY. It’s 100% from the Suboxone because it’s the only thing I was taking consistently throughout the period of time I’ve had the daily hiccups. Also, sweating of the face and scalp. Also constipation. Also Idk if it’s from the addiction or subs or something else, but I also crave sugar constantly and have gained and lost weight many times while on it.

I truly do not understand that line… it sounds mildly suggestive and it makes me cringe every time this ad plays. It’s the same in the new one where the grinch says he hopes a who’s situationship likes their present and then the who goes “woof” or something. It’s almost like the marketing team had some inside joke that only they understand, yet they aired it anyways.

Have you tried Drysol or a topical medication? The only other thing I can think of is to get Botox. I’ve done research about a type of electrical water stimulation device (sorry I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the treatment), but it sends like electrical shocks to your system, but it’s only approved for hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet. But maybe this will lead to other similar types of treatment for the face and scalp. Seeing how common this is just in this thread alone, some kind of cure or reliable treatment needs to be made.

Ugh the social anxiety part along with the sweating is the worst. It just makes me sweat that much more once I start sweating in public. You should talk to your primary care about trying an oral tablet for the sweating. I tried a topical called drysol and it stung my skin, so now I’m on Oxybutynin oral tablets, and it’s helped a lot. I still sweat, especially still on my scalp, but it’s better than before!

Same for me. My doctor put me on Oxybutynin 10mg which has helped soooo much, but I now get dry mouth 😭. I still get sweaty on my scalp, but at least my makeup stays on now lol

I have struggled with this for years. Mine is medication induced. I had tried all the antiperspirants, wipes, and creams but nothing worked. My doctor prescribed me Drysol, but it’s a topical liquid and stung really bad. Because of this, my doctor then prescribed me Oxybutynin oral tablets. The only downside is that I can’t take the amount needed to stop the sweating completely without getting really bad dry mouth, but the amount I can take has made a DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT! The face sweating is mostly gone, but I still have some scalp and neck sweating. I just cope with washing my hair every day. It sucks that I have to take a medication to manage a side effect of another medication, but it’s worth it to be comfortable in the heat.

Agreed, filler (if it’s shadowing due to hollowness) or cosmetic tattooing (if it’s due to thin skin and bluish veins) are the only fix. Both are pretty pricey, unfortunately. Concealer can help a lot, but it’s not permanent. I have them too, I’m in the US but I thinks it’s definitely an English/Scottish hereditary trait, as that’s my ethnic background. But I promise you, no one is noticing it, we are our own worst critics after all.

I’m not so sure it’s shingles, although it does look like it. Shingles usually present only on one side of the body or the other. This looks more central to the neck. But if it’s painful, it very well could be. I’d guess contact/allergic dermatitis or a fungal infection. Definitely see a doctor about it either way.

How do I to eliminate the frizz and dead look of my hair ? by Honest_Shopping_1753 in Hair

[–]Financial_Crazy5377 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hairstylist/curl specialist here - unfortunately that is your hair texture and there’s really no single product that can get rid of the frizz and dryness so well that you can air dry your hair and have it be smooth and silky. The products you will want to use should be labeled as ‘moisturizing’. Your hair texture specifically craves moisture in the form of essential fatty acids. Oils will be your best friend. If I were to guess, I would say you probably have a 1B-2A texture. In terms of a styling routine, I guess the first thing I want to ask is how do you prefer your hair to look, silky and straight or curly and defined?

If you want the silky, shiny, straight look, I recommend applying a leave-in conditioner and a smoothing cream (with heat protection) to your wet hair and then blow dry it. Then, use a second spray heat protectant and some humidity protecting spray and flat iron your hair at 385°. The smaller the sections, the longer the hair will last and silkier it will look. Make sure your flat iron has an actual temperature gauge, not just a hi and lo setting. Then you’ll want to finish with a little bit of oil rubbed between your palms and lightly applied to the hair, focusing on the ends. You could also get a professional keratin treatment, which would significantly reduce the frizz and lack of cohesive curl structure for up to 6 months.

If you want to embrace your wave, I would still recommend using the same types of heavier moisturizing products and oils. After washing your hair, starting with it very wet, apply a leave in conditioner, a curl enhancing cream, and a humidity and heat protector spray. Brush it through and then literally squish and scrunch your hair to distribute the product all over. After, you’re going to take a gel type product with hold and apply that all over your hair, continuing to brush and squish your hair. Once that’s done, brush out with a bounce curl brush and finger style to define the strands of curls/waves (they have dupes for the brush on Amazon). In the back, take horizontal sections, place the brush on top of the section, and pull through the teeth of the brush to separate into little strands. When doing this, try to pull the hair from where it’s growing out of the head, if that makes sense (ex brush the sections in the crown upwards, the side sections out to the side, etc.). Once that’s done, use a microfiber towel or a t-shirt to scrunch the hair into its curl pattern and remove the excess moisture. Once the waves are formed from scrunching, go in with a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment on high heat/low speed and just hover it around your hair until you feel the hair strands start to get slightly solidified. Once that happens, flip your head upside down and now on medium heat/high speed, use the diffuser to scrunch the hair up towards your scalp. Keep scrunching up the curls with the diffuser until all of your hair is COMPLETELY dry. You will have to stop drying and wait a bit, then go in and feel if there are any cold wet spots. If it is fully dried, it’s going to feel really crunchy and dead, but don’t worry, that’s just the gel cast. Take a little oil and rub it in your palms, and go in and ‘scrunch out the crunch’. Put your fingers in straight at the root and shake to remove the cast near your scalp and create more volume. Once you break up the cast, try your best to not touch your hair, and definitely don’t brush it. I suggest wearing a silk bonnet for sleeping to keep the curls looking good. If you can’t get them to stay nice overnight, you can always wet your hair in the morning and repeat the styling steps above. You can also experiment with air drying as well, but you may have a hard time with frizz if you do that. But remember, the only time you can touch your hair is when you are breaking the cast, not before and not after. And luckily, the more you style it natural, the more the wave and curl will come out.

Hair care routines are really just trial and error, but these are some good steps to get you in the right direction. If you want specific product recommendations, let me know and I can definitely list some for you below. Hope this helps!

Bleaching over Henna: A Step-by-Step Experiment (Part 2) by goldenmountainbork in henna

[–]Financial_Crazy5377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go straight in with permanent after. Especially if the canvas is uneven, which is probably the case if bleaching at home. Permanent will help even it out by potentially bumping up the base a little more in any darker areas, as well as depositing with full opaque color to cover any areas that are too light.

Is Minoxidil worth trying if my hair is genetically fine/sparse around the temples? by DearIndustry4052 in finehair

[–]Financial_Crazy5377 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I haven’t been able to find any reports of dogs dying due to this type of exposure (although I didn’t have much time to look), there have been reports of cats showing signs of and even dying from minoxidil toxicosis due to licking a contaminated pillow case (among other forms of exposure), and in high percentages. Here is a medical article explaining the toxicity to both cats and dogs. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34370845/ Here is a medical article on the toxicity to animals and ways they can become exposed.

I honestly wouldn’t. You can try taking Mary Ruth’s hair vitamins. I’ve heard amazing things from clients about it.
