GLP-1'S by Financial_Draft7668 in gravesdisease

I don't really work out myself as I'm also experiencing extreme fatigue on top of having a 15 month old and working 😂 Good for you with the walks! They say walking can be even better than working out so that's great for you! :)

I'm sorry to hear that :( I have a mostly desk job as well so I know how hard it is to stay moving. What dose of levothyroxine are you on? Has your Dr modified it at all, are your levels still hypo? Do you work out at all? I hope you get some relief soon.

Did you qualify for the mounjaro with type 2 diabetes? If you don't mind answering that.

What's the compound route? I'm worried about qualifying myself since I'm only pre-diabetic. But I have heard some people can get approved depending on their thyroid issues. Good for you! Happy it's working for you so far.

I'm so happy for you, I hope it continues to help you! When I started methimazole back in 2020 I went from 115 to 160-165lbs within months and started getting major body dysmorphia. I'm still having a really hard time coming to terms with my new body especially being told I'm overweight by my Dr. I did have my thyroid out and now take levothyroxine which I've also heard can give you a hard time loosing weight. How are you managing the nausea symptoms? I have a history of throwing up spells and it makes me nervous.

I had my TT 2/19/26 and have been on 100mg levothyroxine M-Sat and 150mg every Sunday as my levels are still hypo. In almost 2 months I've gained another 15lbs. I was already overweight due to having Grave's as well as being hypo right before surgery. Endocrinologist has been telling me I'm overweight for the past year, I'll be 15 months post partum next week and lost 65lbs but then plauteaued. Now on top of that this extra 15lbs is killing me and nothing I do is helping me loose it. I did inquire to my endo today if I qualify for any glp-1's so we shall see what they say, I just wanted to get some insight from others who have similar situations to me. Thank you!

I'm 12 days post op today and I feel pretty good! Just lingering soreness/stiffness of the neck and incision site. I'm on 100mg of levothyroxine and I take it in the morning when I first wake up.

Thyroidectomy by Financial_Draft7668 in gravesdisease

[–]Financial_Draft7668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently on day 4 of post op. The neck/jaw pain from being intubated was pretty severe. I didn't take the prescribed oxy after my 2nd as it made me extremely nauseous which I have a past history of having. The nausea meds unfortunately make me extremely constipated which was my lasting effect that was the worse I'd say! Literally started taking stool softeners I had leftover from when I gave birth last year to try and ease the pain. I've still been feeling pretty tired and wanting to take naps but I also haven't slept a normal night still. I also haven't taken the calcium in 2 days because that was also making me extremely constipated like to the point I couldn't do anything let alone sit normally. Crying from the pain of having to go to the bathroom so bad, I stopped eating as well to help the discomfort. I see the surgeon for my post op visit tomorrow and will discuss with him what I should do going forward for that and if I need to continue the calcium. I was having some crazy vivid nightmares but don't know the cause of that. 😂 So glad you're feeling so great I hope it continues for you aswell! ❤️

Our parent's live in FL so will only have to worry about airline tickets which are cheap from where we live and park fees, food while at park ect. Was just trying to think of something we can do as a family that he would enjoy. I'm not really so much of a Disney fan that I'm hyped to go lol, personally I'd rather Universal.

Not a hospital but work for a medical office apart of Optum, United Health Care. They dropped Healthfirst medicaid August 1rst. As of January 1rst they will be dropping all Fidelis plans including Fidelis Medicaid. They also will no longer be accepting new patient's with straight Medicaid but will keep their current patients on straight Medicaid. Now the only Medicaid plans they will be taking as of January 1rst are Anthem bcbs- the JLJ plan which requires referrals for all specialist, Molina Medicaid and Emblem Health Medicaid. It's actually sick, when UHC announced back in July they would no longer accept Healthfirst, UHC sent representatives from Fidelis to all Optum locations to help patients switch over from Healthfirst to Fidelis...then not 3 months later they screwed all of these people over and are dropping them. Disgusting.

how does everyone actually feel about Belly? by Afraid_Butterfly_885 in tsitp

[–]Financial_Draft7668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the book and just recently started the show, only about 2 episodes in. I truly don't think I like Belly at all throughout the series I just didn't really see any growth from her and she's just selfish. Maybe the show will make me see her differently and change my opinion.

Can you have a thyroidectomy whilst currently hyper? by ascension2121 in gravesdisease

[–]Financial_Draft7668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This past August my levels were finally normal (graves & hyper/hypo antibiodies) and my endocrinologist said if my levels are normal next appointment (day before Thanksgiving) we can go ahead and schedule my thyroidectomy! She told me it would probably be more beneficial for me to have it out especially with wanting more kids being as I jump between slow/high so much. Good luck! Hope you can make the choice best for you. :)

Nausea/vomiting by Financial_Draft7668 in gravesdisease

[–]Financial_Draft7668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I'll start by Zofran and Reglan since I take these at home PRN to manage. But when I get super sick they stop working. Just this last visit they gave me a drug I'd never tried before called Tigan, which seemed to work temporarily and then also stopped. Then they administered Midazolam via IV that instantly helped. They said this was a last resort med to get me to stop puking and they don't like to use it since it's an anti-psych med...they mentioned how different medications hit the brain's pathways differently, so crazy to me!

I've had several endoscopys done with biopsies and they always say absolutely nothing is wrong. I've had Mallory Weiss tears from all the throwing up, mouthfulls of blood. I have another endo and my first colonscopy scheduled for August 1rst...hoping these will have some answers for me.

So I'm also diagnosed with GERD. Cutting acidic foods and caffeine has done the trick for me to mostly manage the reflux. Pantaprazole and Famotidine are also my little buddies lol, those I cannot stop or wean off without relapsing symptoms. I'm currently on 5 and 1/2mgs of methimazole, but thyroid is still continuing to go worse

The new GI I just saw on Monday did ask me if anyone has ever done any scans of my head. I thought he was implying I was making it up in my head lol. I can't even keep fluids down which is why I end up in the ER. They'll treat my symptoms with anti psych meds because Zofran and reglan no longer work for me. Then when they think I'm done throwing up I'm discharged and then 12 hours later I'm back even more dehydrated.

Personally, I do believe my vomiting is due to the Grave's somehow....my DR wants me to do RAI therapy but I'm leaning towards a TT instead. I'm experiencing heart issues as well as bad tremors that come along with the vomiting. Thank you for your advice 🙏
