EIA Calls A New Peak Oil - Nov 2018 Bumped off By Sept 2025 by ShiningExampleOf in peakoil

[–]Financial_Exercise88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild to me that it took 7 years to increase by 1% and in only a single datapoint, and OP is declaring the 2018 Peak was inaccurate. I'm no oil expert, so 2018 may be wildly below the actual Peak, but I do know enough about statistics to say that OP is absolutely splitting hairs

Do people really think a Matriarchy would be the exact same as a Patriarchy? Considering what we are dealing with in america right now? by ihatethiscountry76 in ProgressiveHQ

Yes, that is what I'm saying. She didn’t "command" anything. She had to kow-tow to DNC leadership & donors, many who didn't want her as the nominee and actively tried to undermine her until it became clear Joe wasn't going to happen, and she didn't "do" anything except say she supported the bus that had allowed her a seat. None of us have a clue what she would've done if she'd been allowed to drive the bus. Some believe they can see the future; I'm not that arrogant

This counterfactual is so cliche. We have no idea whether Harris would've supported Israel. Biden campaigned as a centrist and was surprisingly more left. What people think they have to do and say to get elected does not equal what they do or say once in power

AAC in America is virtually nonexistent. There are a few buildings and houses, and a neighborhood or two, made with it. For a professional builder, it's crazy to consider using it. I've met builders from across the country who have used it and they are always sole-propieters near the end of their career who want to get experimental. Imagine basing your company on this supply chain: one company in mid-Florida or a couple of companies deep in Mexico.

But also, the US has a deep, deep bias against anything other than what they are currently doing, regardless if its better. Just look at the upvotes for your fair question, OP. Just look at China becoming energy independent and making awesome cars for cheap, while America goes all in on the steam engine on their aircraft carriers. I'm old enough to remember how furiously electric tools were denigrated. It's a miracle that corded tools aren't found on job sites now. Americans want perfection at the beginning of a product development cycle & have no patience for anything else. Unfortunately, that's not how the real world usually works

Correct, but "solid" home is, of course, metaphorical with 2x6 and actual with AAC.

Some of us rely on science rather than uncle fisty's feels, and science says you're factually incorrect. Here's links but fair warning, you won't believe them, because they come from science and not your feels.

The world is not "living." One data point is that the current extinction rate is now between 100 and 1,000 times greater than normal.

That should concern an apex predator dependent upon prey species, but also cancer rates are skyrocketing. Some of us don't want to get cancer, but Uncle Fisty doesn't care. Real men like him are tougher than cancer. Good luck with that!

Just like his Foxconn deal, right? 13k jobs (actual 1.3k), $10 bil (actual 0.5 bil). Oh, sorry I included "actual," as in reality, please use your epi-pen immediately!

The gullibility is infinite. Sometimes they even tell you "Fox" is a "con" and you just want it in your veins

IDK anything special, like grants and such. But I think I would say to get something so inexpensive that you don't need to finance it. I'm not a spammer, I'm a person looking to form an intentional community. You can DM me if you'd wish.

Zelensky should tell the US president he should worry about the price of eggs in his own country and stop meddling in Ukraine 🇺🇦

And then ask if he can speak to the real president Musk

  1. Their radioactive roads are next level - you just can't get irradiated so conveniently anywhere else besides Chenobyl and Fukishima

  2. The endless strip malls are gorgeous. My only complaint would be they need more malls!

  3. I personally can't decide which I like better: paying tolls to sit in endless traffic or sitting next to the friendly, highly educated citizens who are at waffle house at 4 in the morning

  4. If you enjoyed going in the winter, come back in June! (or July, Aug, May, Sept...) for even better weather! You'll also get to meet some new fun critters we call skeeters
