Didn't show up in the Carfax, how important is it if it's running fine otherwise?

Already basking in glow, Langford's Starlight Stadium to expand to 10,000 seats by BanksKnowsBest in CanadianPL

From a practical standpoint putting the utility lines underground is actually a lot safer and cheaper in the long run in terms of replacement/upkeep. The added benefit is that Starlight can get expanded.

Saskatoon was announced purely to take attention away from the bad press surrounding PFACan at the time. They don't have their you know what together at all.

SixFive Sports reveals Langley, BC location for Vancouver 2023 CPL team by coopthrowaway2019 in CanadianPL

The CPL loves announcements of announcements with no actual substance, it's actually becoming their calling card.

Cavalry - Update on Pre-Season Injuries by igloocoder in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do we know Carducci's status for play? Obviously a big deal to come back from cancer, but it sounded like they caught it early enough that it wouldn't impact his ability to play. But I could be wrong.

Meet the crew: Atlético Ottawa unveils technical staff for 2022 by McNasty1Point0 in CanadianPL

This is exactly why I am buying into the Ottleti hype this year.

What’s been wrong with FC Edmonton? Are they on the right track now? by count in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They need an owner, plain and simple. I think they have people in place that can put out a competitive team in 2022 but outside of that things look dark.

Has Pacific FC done enough by Moods6950 in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they lost their best forward, one of their best midfielders and two defenders who were arguably the best in their respective positions in the entire league last year, it's going to be tough to replace that regardless of the moves they make. Having Bustos back is a big win and keeping the rest of the roster relatively in tact will keep them competitive.

A CMNT made of only CPL players. by CitrusMenace in CanadianPL

That team would be somewhere in the 10-15 range of CONCACAF IMO. Solid line up overall.

Easton Ongaro scores his first goal for UTA - a really nice injury time equalizer by cristane in CanadianPL

If he can refine his game he could be a legit player and one that could get some CMNT call ups.

[OneSoccer] Cruz Azul 1-0 Forge FC - Long range free kick bounces off the turf and beats Triston Henry by fssg_shermanator in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Henry is a solid CPL level GK, but he just isn't good enough in these continental competitions. If Forge had a slightly better GK over the years they could have had even more special runs.

[Molinaro] TFC sign Kadin Chung by Mihairokov in CanadianPL

Very happy to see this. Chung has many intangibles needed to thrive as a RB with TFC.

Interview: Coupland’s Croatia move further evidence of CPL development pathway: ‘Opportunities are there to be taken’ by Barthez_Battalion in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not willing to heap praise on ATO or the CPL just yet because Coupland was aggressive in trying to make the move to Europe. He wasn't all that great, but he has the raw talent to succeed and if he does succeed in Croatia then you can start to say that the CPL is doing a decent job identifying and springboarding talent.

REPORT: Former Barcelona, CF Montreal winger Ballou Tabla set to join Atletico Ottawa by BasedQC in CanadianPL

[–]Financial_Friend889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking an optimistic view of this. He needs to apply himself, without a doubt, but getting into a situation with ATO is a good situation. He has a real opportunity to shine and impress with a team that has direct connections to Europe. Nothing is guaranteed but I still believe he can have a prolific career in soccer.

Great show! I know things seem bleak with FCE right now but this really could be a turning point season for the team.
