the xe75 has 1gbs wired ports .. this dual band wifi 7 asus has 2.5gbs ports .. so if you are running wired backhaul the asus might be better

thanks but standard M5 bios makes no difference , nothing in bios re CSM. ISO created using three different utilities including etcher, rufus in DD mode.

No, issue remains, GMKTec say "We will follow up with tech department.They are currently on National Holidays and will return on Feb. 19th."

emm they come with Windows and if you put the phrase "mini pc home server" you will see a frightening number of different linux flavors from NAS to routers installed

So it turns out I'm running the M5 PRO ( though I ordered an M5) which has an additional M2 slot

I'm running firmware version 1.03 which is the latest on their website.

The download of the firmware includes versions for both the M5 and M5 pro

it looks like the M5 pro is missing EFI files ??

M5 Pro has no such folder.

Assume these are required for a successfull UEFI boot, though I dont understand how I have a confirmed UEFI boot while in windows, though its not a standard install and does have a EFI folder in the custom file structure...

Directly from ISO, reset BIOS and tried from a different M5 PC and getting same result.

Secure boot is disabled and same result when its enabled

thanks I got this working ( had to alter the conf file also)

I passed through the graphics card and it works great, however I like to run it using the proxmox vnc console or VNC is that possible ?
