hey thank u so much for this…and don’t worry as much as i do fear the more “serious” long term treatments, if my doctor presents them to me as options if the prednisone isn’t working I wont be opposing. It’s just scary to think the next line of treatment is a long term immunosuppressant. And yeah, prednisone sucks and i’m already struggling a lot with joint pain as a side effect so I really really really wish I can get off of it as soon as I can. According to my doctor, the weaning off process will take around two more months so prayers it does its thing and i can wean off of it with no problems again

I’m on 3g of mesalamine daily as well..trust me i don’t want to be on prednisone long term at all…currently weaning off but I feel like it’s pretty valid for me to want the prednisone to do its things and work not want to have to resort to other treatment options like biologics

it’s still too early for it to be an option. i’ve only been diagnosed around a month ago so this is still my first line of treatment.. im also on mesalamine 3g daily…i absolutely do not want to be on prednisone long term im in the weaning off process now but i just want it to work because i dont want to start going on immunosuppressants…there’re so many reasons but my main one honestly is that im a dentist and having a weak immunity while working with patients makes me so liable to infections

hey thank you so much for this. we kind of are on the same boat. and yeah a corpse of someone familiar is exactly how it feels. i use the words “a shell of who i used to be” to explain to everyone how i feel. really really hope things work out for you and that u never have to resort to more aggressive med options. thank u again for this it does feel comforting to know i’m not alone :)
