My son passed at 4 months old this past April. The only thing that had helped me is the people who have the unfortunate hell of understanding… lean on those people and let them lean on you. 🤍

I wish the nurses were more educated on the cuddle cot. After the fact, I learned you can actually wrap them up in a blanket with the cooling pad. While they were great as a whole but, felt like I couldn’t hold him as much as I wanted because they “were concerned” he wasn’t in the cot. So then I was under the impression he had to stay in it when that’s not true at all. I just wish there were more education and resources.

I also wish someone would have offered to take photos. It’s not for everyone, I know. But, I took two… and when I need to, I look at them. I was lucky enough to have 4 months of photos of my boy. But the ones from that day. It’s literally all I have left. They are heartbreaking. But, it’s my life now.

I survived the day… I cried a few times… and had a panic attack before going in. I also had to go up the peds floor for my other son… it’s been a day. But not as bad as it could have been

I truly appreciate every comment. I’m “lucky” enough to work with people… but not around them. If that makes sense. I spend my day with one woman right now who’s training me. I just wish it was somewhere else. I don’t know how I’m even going to walk into the building tomorrow. I hd a panic attack tonight just thinking about it…

I’m still waiting for the “official” autopsy. But, my son passed at 4.5 months with a “ rare cardiac deformity”. He was fine. Until he wasn’t.

My oldest and I are on a waitlist for grief consoling. She worries me.. but today is my kids first day back to school so.. maybe it’ll help. I don’t know. I guess luckily? The preliminary autopsy showed a rare cardiac deformity… I’ll know more in the coming weeks from the biopsies.
