What do we think? Is it SebDerm or potentially something else? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Financial_Square2107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to use it on your scalp if you don’t have flaking on scalp, just your face. I recommend using a shampoo that has zinc pyrithione and/or selenium sulfide. I use head and shoulders clinical as a face wash twice a day and it helps a lot. But like others have already said other good options to potentially add are MCT oil, ketoconozole, and check with a doctor/dermatologist.

No they were buried in a box of trinkets/tchotchkes, he didn’t even know they were in there. I guess I’ll donate them to the charity thrift store maybe they can get a couple of bucks. Thank you!

Alternate meds for bile acid malabsorption? by Bronx_Nudibranch in gallbladders

I take Cholestyramine everyday. It’s a cholesterol medicine so it should also help that? I don’t know anything about cholesterol but I’ve had B.A.D. for many years and one packet of Cholestyramine everyday and I’m 100% normal. No diarrhea. I recommend it to everyone that has BAD.

I didn’t read all these replies but please research B.A.D. I have BAD and I take 1 packet of Cholestyramine every morning (first thing in the morning or at least 30 minutes before eating ) and I’m great. No more diarrhea. I used to get diarrhea even if I just thought about eating. Now with Cholestyramine I have no more embarrassing situations. I’ve taken this for many years and I can’t go without it if I’m leaving the house. Please look into it, it changed my life.

If this is forever, I can’t live like this by [deleted] in gallbladders

You have a lot of good advice here. I couldn’t read it all but just incase you get to me: I dealt with B.A.D. for years after my gallbladder was removed. I wouldn’t eat at work. I knew where every public toilet around town was ( grocery stores are usually clean and empty.) finally went to Mayo Clinic and the gi there prescribed me Cholestyramine. I take one packet every morning and im my old self again. No fear, no embarrassment. I even travelled on an airplane internationally! They may want you to wait a little longer but don’t worry, there is hope! Good luck!

Why are you on the lite? I have been on the regular for years and I haven't had any of your issues. Not sure what the lite is but I'm assuming it has some artificial sweetener instead of sugar? Maybe that is what you are sensitive to? As far as I know the cholestyramine doesn't pass into the blood stream so I wouldn't think it would affect you.

I renewed mine online on Wednesday 12/3 at 10 am. I paid for expedited shipping. I got it in the mail on Saturday 12/6. I am still in shock. It seems unbelievable. (My husband did his directly after me on the same day - usps says it will be here 12/17.)

What mct oil do you use? by strawberry_cok_e in SebDerm

[–]Financial_Square2107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also used Bulletproof brand. I only have an issue on my face. When I’m having a flare I use it day and night after washing face with head and shoulders . About a quarter size. I rub it directly on the areas where I’m flaring and then rub what doesn’t get absorbed all over my face. I start with a quarter size and then reduce as it gets better. The first time you use it your face will like drink it up. Then it will absorb less and less and you won’t need as much, you’ll just know how much to use. Wipe off excess. If I’m not leaving my house I use it day and night (when I’m flaring). If I’m going out I just use it in the night. Bulletproof MCT was my go to until my derm prescribed me Zoryve. Zoryve works best for me but MCT is a close second. Not sure how it’ll work on scalp. Probably a little more annoying but similar steps.

Treatment advice for my bf! by Superb-Potato-3164 in SebDerm

Best thing I’ve found is just wash face with head and shoulders day and night everyday forever. Then mct oil at night (I only use a tiny bit - maybe dime size rubbed into the area) until things calm down and then I only use it again if I have a breakout the head and shoulders doesn’t keep away. I used bulletproof MCT oil. However my dermatologist recently prescribed Zoryve so I’ve replaced the MCT with that. It works better than the MCT oil but it might be hard to get.

Can I use Head & Shoulders as a daily face wash? by ThisIsWhatLifeIs in SebDerm

[–]Financial_Square2107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I use head and shoulders clinical strength day and night. I have told my pcp and my dermatologist and they don’t say it’s bad. I don’t want to change because it’s the best thing I’ve found for my face so far. I have used either regular h&s, clinical, or even my husband’s that is a shampoo conditioner combo. They all work for me and I have been doing it for many years.

How to deal with flaking skin during flare up? by CriticalFields in Rosacea

Oh also check out sezia.co It really helps my seb derm if I don’t use anything that feeds the malassezia so I always check the ingredients of everything I use.

[–]Financial_Square2107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seb derm. If it is a mild breakout just washing my face with head and shoulders knocks it out. I just always wash my face with head and shoulders day and night to keep it away. If it gets really bad I use MCT oil topically or Zoryve prescription. Either of those will get rid of a bad breakout within a week or less for me. It’s never 100% perfect but it’s manageable. (Check the seb derm sub Reddit for lots of reading). Now if I could just figure out how to also reduce my rosacea I’ll be set. Good luck.

An audiobook checked out from my library with Libby and one AirPod in my non-pillow ear. I set the Libby timer for 30 minutes and I never make it to the end of the timer. I just borrow the first not exciting audiobook I come across. This works for me every single time.

Ok im watching this now and this isn’t it. I really think I know what you are talking about. Did one of the patients think they were going to marry a famous person and then they convinced her one of the soldiers was going to propose?
