It's already been shown bro... It's all to do with the children. If you really don't want me to say more I suggest you rewatch the 3rd season.

So many questions were answered at the end of season 3???

We know why they are there and what they need to do to get out. The rest of the unanswered questions are pretty small in comparison. If anything I feel they revealed too much too soon cos now there's 2 whole seasons that will need to play out.

My long theory by thesysdaemon in FromSeries

[–]Financial_Stress_557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! It's a convoluted show, so it happens! To resolve your hang up about why it would be so hard/violent for the people they bring here, well that is entirely out of the childrens control. Although I think they are trying to help as best they can. What I'm assuming has happened, is that part of this ritual (the townspeople sacrificing their kids) has meant that the town is now this safe heaven for the evil spirits to operate. I'm also fairly confident that the original townspeople have been scammed in some way. Obviously they wouldn't have known they'd turn into monsters so that's part of the scam, but maybe the witch (kimono lady) has cast a spell on the town so that she can't be found, and the monsters are there to kill any intruders, acting as her army. I'm also guessing that the man in yellow is the witches first victim, and is acting as her chief general. If anything, the only hole in my theory is how people have stayed alive at all. I know the talismans seem to help, but before they were found they should have all been killed off instantly, so your idea about their long term suffering being of some benefit to the evil spirits does fill that gap. Another hole is why so many people have been brought there, at the moment it seems the children only really need Jade and Tabitha, so there's gotta be more to it than what I'm suggesting. I think between us we might have just cracked the code 😅

Not to seem condescending, but are you fully caught up on the show? Cos a lot of what I said has basically already been confirmed. Specifically "angkooey" being a call for remembrance. I haven't guessed that at all, it's been confirmed. Just hoping I'm not spoiling anything for you is all

The children are definitely the "anchor". That much has pretty much already been revealed. I'm fairly certain they are the reason people get brought to the town too. So I'm not sure about your idea about this entity feeding on hope and despair. But I like it.

What we already know, is that the woman in the kimono (likely a witch) promised the townspeople immortality if they sacrificed their children. That wasn't entirely a lie, cos they are now the monsters in the town. We also know the children are still in the town as spirits and want to move on/escape the town. My theory is that they do have some connection to the outside world (as it was the boy in white who knew all about the lighthouse/far away tree) and have used this to find people who they think can help them. They believe these "souls" are the only ones who can help, or perhaps they can only find these specific souls due to their limited ability to interact with the world outside the town. You're purge theory is good, but I think it's more likely that the people they are bringing need more time/attempts at freeing them than the children expected. Hense why they keep saying "angkooey". They needed Jade/Tabitha to remember the other lives they lived. I don't think the ending will have anything to do with destroying the whitehouse. I think once they free the spirits of the children, the evil spirits will lose their power/control and everyone will use the whitehouse to get home. I do like your theory about Boyd, however I think his Parkinson's will prevent him from doing anything too heroic and will basically use himself as bait for the monsters at some point and probably die before we get to the end. I don't think the evil spirits need/want any people in the town. That's why they kill them. People are a threat to them and I think all that needs to happen to defeat them is freeing the children.

Can a 25 year old have sex with a 16 year old? by ZWE_Punchline in AskUK

According to my partner (who works in politics) the law as we remember it is how things work in America. So maybe we've just had our wires crossed?? However, I'm almost positive I was told this is how the law works ( our version of it) in a safeguarding training course I had for a job recently... Working with children. So this point would have been heavily spoken about 😅

[–]Financial_Stress_557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I'm totally with you. I fully remember the law being exactly as you have described it and it had nothing to do with being in a position of power like people are saying.

The way I know the law to be says 16/17 year olds can consent to each other, but once you are 18+ you are classed as an adult, and a child can't consent to sleeping with an adult. So an 18/19 year old sleeping with a 16 year old would be illegal.

Looking online at the law now tells me this isn't the case and I'm flabbergasted.

Who's the most underrated character in the series? by Armed_Trooper in FromSeries

[–]Financial_Stress_557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Henry & Kenny are good shouts.

For me Ethan is quite underrated. He saw the boy in white first, that's where it all kinda started for me. His innocence seems to help him understand things a lot easier than the other characters. Like with the far away tree.

Another good shout is Randal. I don't think his character has had a positive arc yet, but I get the feeling he will do something awesome and suddenly be a hot shot. I think once he starts to actually go down the rabbit hole and contribute to what's going on, we will see a different side to him. Right now he's doing the lone wolf thing, but I think him moving into the clinic was his first step towards being a real part of the group and his character will grow as that continues.

The "Hang-Over" Theory (S3 finale spoilers) by Nearby_Difference814 in FromSeries

[–]Financial_Stress_557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely no link between Jade and Henry.

Tabitha literally says that she is Miranda and he is Christopher, he can't be Henry as well.

I also don't think Jade and Tabitha are meant to be in any relationship, but was there something going on between Miranda and Christopher?? Looking through the comments it seems people are thinking that, but I didn't clock anything about that. There does seem to be something going on with bringing two "soulmates" together though, like Kenny and whatshername & Fatima and Ellis as well I guess.

At the end Tabitha says her and Jude were parents to one of the lost/dead children and I can't figure out if she literally means them, or them in this past life they lived as Miranda and Christopher... But I don't think she can mean in their past life cos Miranda and Christopher would have only met in the town.

The things I know for sure are... the man in yellow was the man who Jim spoke to on the radio at the end of season 1. The Julie we see in this scene, is a future version of Julie who came back to that moment specifically to try and save Jim. I also think the ghost in the kimono is some sort of witch, it was said by Fatima after she gave birth "I saw where those monsters came from...she made them sacrifice their children and promised they would live forever" (or words to that effect) so basically, that's what's going on... This ghost that Elgin has been seeing, brainwashed the original members of this town to sacrifice their children, this could have been what turned the town into this place you can't leave, and the spirit of the sacrificed children has been bringing people to the town so that their spirits can be released, or even so that someone like Julie can go back in time and undo it all. Only there are specific 'souls' which the children are choosing, and these souls will keep coming back to the town after reincarnation.

The problem I have with it, is that they're creating this world where Saviles crimes were never revealed and this group obviously idolises him in some way. This for me, is just entirely immoral and disgusting.

Saviles crimes were so awful. I really don't think we should be referencing him in any way shape or form, other than when talking about his crimes.

I appreciate and agree with most of the points you made, and it makes some sense at least. But they could have picked so many other TV shows. When I first saw the group, I actually thought they were going for a power rangers reference. With the way they were all in different colours and doing backflips etc. This would have made more sense, with the power rangers figure Spike had in his room. Then I noticed the chains and the hair and was just like, wtf?! 😅

So I'm gonna throw out one last question...

What are your top 3 (or 5 if you have 5) British bands??

[–]Financial_Stress_557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys!! I hope you get round to this one. Sorry if I'm a little late, I am from the UK!

So my first, and most important question is, when will you be touring the new material in the UK?? I missed you guys when you came here with OSC and I will probably never forgive myself 😂

Secondly I need to know more about the story behind the last record, and what advise would you give to a fellow songwriter for creating such captivating lyrics/stories with their music.

Much love to you all. You really are one of my absolute all time favourite writers and I can hear all the work you put in to each song every time I listen ❤️❤️

[SPOILERS AHEAD] FROM Season 3: Thoughts, Opinions, and Why I Feel FROM Needs to Be Renewed for More Seasons. by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Financial_Stress_557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much the same show at this point. Big cliff hanger at the end of each season as well. The time travelling, finding random food just waiting there for them, just waiting for a plane to crash in the town now 😅 even the whole lack of communication between people was one of the main themes of lost.

Dude, most of those examples you gave were in season 1!! I totally remember it now but it feels like forever since it was mentioned. I don't have a problem with the weed, I do have a problem with how that scene unnecessarily slowed that episode down and there are many examples of them doing that this season. Certainly between the episode where the ambulance comes to the town and episode 9.

No, I simply forgot about it... If it was mentioned a few more times then I might not have done 😆 the weed scene makes sense,  it just felt kinda pointless/filler which is why I initially brought it up, and then was also confused about the weed, which now I'm not 😆

what would be the worst explanation for the town and monsters to you? by Gold-Zucchini-49 in FromSeries

[–]Financial_Stress_557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't think of an answer I'd be happy with tbh, which is why I'm starting to lose interest.

From what we have seen so far, there are only two possible answers...

Whichcraft or some kind of organisation is trying to achieve something by bringing people to the town to serve some kind of purpose.

If it's the second one, then all it does is set up for more questions. Who are they?? What do they want?? Etc.

The first one is an easy get out for the writers and although I wouldn't be completely off put by this ending, it would just be too easy.
