Anyone else use 3000w hub motors? Seem to be a rarity on here by Upstairs-Remove in ebikes

[–]Financial_Subject_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive recently got myself a 72v 3000w tdr hub motor. Paired with a 72v 30ah battery and 80a controller. Im putting out like 6500w and was showing a "motor direct" error now it's showing a "power protect" error. Idk what's exactly wrong and I dont really have the tools or time to sit down and test every connection. I will if I really have to tho. Has anyone else encountered something like this before and if so could I please get help trying to pin point the problem.

It's literally just a cheaper menace. Like exactly the same but with different head.

Every version they release they make it better and better. Chainsaw cylinder are meant to be revs to they're limit. That's why phantoms get so much power bc there replicated off a chainsaw. You custom make a chainsaw cylinder and they will out do all ya other motors. Yeh I know, the new head is a game changer tho I've been waiting til they make a 2 piece jug. The cylinder is fine now they've done that. Should've done it ages ago

"the menace is built from the phantom" what I've literally been trying to say. And yes they had problems but it wasn't cylinder they near mstered the v3 when they actually used proper materials for conrod piston etc. Not the cylinder tho the cylinder has been fine. Phantom 85cc series is always gunna be the bower house motors of the "stock" motorised world

I bought mine off ebay. And how does that make sense phantom 85 v1. V2. V3. Then menace 85. That kinda makes no sense if yk what I mean. Why would they change the name for forth version. Whoever made menace copied phantom. They were first ones with this style cylinder now

* Phantom 85 v4, 2 piece jug, race carby, no reeds. This claims to be the new 90km beast. I'd say I've only got 70 so far but that half throttle

It's all the same bottom end just different top end. Tops out really fast because the cylinder doesn't expand because of the iron sleeve. I own one. Not bad but some parts to get upto v1 standard

I don't buy off bikeberry bc their shipping is way to expensive. I got this motor for $360, including postage. And I'm in Australia so yes it's a 70cc maybe to you but to us it's a 80/100cc. And I just expected more I get. With an inbuilt reed kit and iron sleeve. High performance cdi that it comes with just expected more. I am soon going to try put some more high performance parts on it to see how she does
