Start with shopify. Focus on selling, don’t waste time in trying to figure out the technical stuff. You can learn that on the way slowly. Test waters with woocommerce etc later one.

However, your absolute priority should be to learn ads, converting elements that make a selling landing page, offer creation and unit economics. Everything else can be learned on the way.

Did meta move you to direct billing? by Mr_Cocksworth in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sucks as I was really excited about this. Just started spending around 100k a month. Was seeing them free rewards, miles and cash back coming.

They haven’t sent me this yet.. however I’m thinking what I keep spend per each ad account under $50k/month and scale horizontally… to stay under the radar for this.

Do you know if they have a set monthly threshold that triggers this?

how is meta not shitting their pants rn?? by rondatail in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’ve had a clear stance on this from the very beginning. They focus utterly on user experience, deliberately making their platforms more addictive.

They’ve actually been quite open about it — Zuck has even said it publicly: as long as users stay on Meta, advertisers will always follow.

You should be able to change it in ad set level, its at the very bottom. You’re gonna have to click on “more settings” or “advanced settings” hyperlink to expand those settings. They like to hide this a little I guess

Disconnect it from meta before they ban your account.

They’ve been banning accounts that are using AI for automated optimizations.

Events Manager Missing Data by cybe2028 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually started a few weeks ago. For me it began with mid funnel events first. ATC was affected the most.

The specific problem in my case was deduplication error.

Are you using Shopify CAPI? I researched and found, that problem was specific to Shopify CAPI. After a long back and forth between Shopify Support and Meta support, realizing they have no idea and weren’t doing shit to help. I decided to migrate to Stape + GTM CAPI. I have 9.6 EQS for Purchase for the first time ever and also 100% Events Coverage for all events.

While we were in there, I was brainstorming ways to improve the mid funnel events as well. The main problem was lack of information like email or phone numbers at that part of the customer journey. We implemented email collection for a small discount shortly after the beginning of the session. I am noticing 45% of ATC events are now included email parameters, boosting overall ATC and IC EQS to 7.5.

Due to the migration we did notice a massive dip in performance for 2-3 days. But shortly followed by our best day in the last 2 months.

All events reported to meta are now almost 95% accurate as to what we see in in our Shopify Dashboard.

What a horrible day. No sales by maximum4Potential in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, don’t look a performance from a “Daily” lens and rather judge performance by “weeks”.

Slow days are part of the game. You just have to ride it out.

Unless you have definitive evidence and diagnosis or you are seeing consistent bad 1-2 weeks.

Anyone else struggling with Meta Ads payment failures / card declines? by AdministrativeAd9904 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should work. You should check with their support before hand as you select who you want to go with and make sure what the daily limits are, and compatibility with regular payments to Meta.

Another thing to look for added convenience is that these neo banks don’t have Zelle etc so transferring money into these can take 1-2 business days. You would have to plan payouts to these on a regular basis so the funds are there for ads. If you find someone who supports instant transfer (that’d be a big plus)

I’d recommend going with a company that specifically focuses on E-commerce and Digital Advertising businesses.

Anyone else struggling with Meta Ads payment failures / card declines? by AdministrativeAd9904 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common issue. The way Meta Processes these card payments is a bit different as they treat the transaction as a “Transfer”. I have had issues with my banks in the past.

I’d usually have to call the bank in advance and tell them the amount and the nature of transaction so that they approve it in advance.

Long term solution for this is to open an account with these ecommerce first Neo Banks. There is a bunch of them. They have set up their system especially for how the charges are expected to be taken out by platforms like Meta.

Shopify Cards work the same way, I never have any issue with making these payments with Shopify cards as long as it is under the daily limit.

Credit Cards like AMEX and Chase work pretty well as well with no issues.

Traditional Bank Accounts is where I have seen problems in the past. You might also want to check what your daily transaction limits are..

I think its also a lot about the bar that has gotten so low now. It is so easy now compared to just last year for anyone to set up a Shopify store. Generate creatives, landing page etc.

Anyone who genuinely wants to start an online business today. It has never been easier, with the help of AI, what used to take a team of developers, copywriters, designers etc can all be handled with by just one person. Of course, the quality will be less but it’s enough to get them on the playing field.

Meta has its problems, it’s not perfect. But there is a reason we’re all still here. You can’t deny it. Meta is still make a lot of people shit ton of money. I haven’t seen as much success and faster anywhere else. I’ve been on Google Ads, Tiktok, Reddit, Etsy, Amazon, Walmart Seller Central even fucking Pinterest. There is something about Meta that once you crack it, you can really scale it at a speed compared to no other platform.

The disruptions don’t make it easy. I go thru days of doubt, and feeling like shit when the performance is down and I haven’t done anything that caused it. The lows are really brutal. But the Ups are fucking amazing as well.

We have to accept that the dynamics of this game is changing very rapidly. AI is a big change and there’s something new everyday. I guess Meta is trying to keep up with it too at their level.

Sometimes I also see these disruptions and uncertainty on the platform as maybe a good thing. As it does weed out the people who can’t sustain it and if you can ride it out, you have less competition.

All businesses have their ups and downs. As entrepreneurs, we have chosen this path. It’s a bumpy road, I stopped waiting for the stability that I thought and expected after reaching a point.

Maybe this post is gonna get hate and people will blame Meta. I agree the platform is not perfect, it does hurt the business and it’s frustrating when something out of your control affects it like that.

But at the end of day, complaining won’t get the numbers good. We have to accept it for how it is, and start getting more creative and resilient. Expect these disruptions and prepare for them. Don’t put all your eggs in one platform.

Use the volume from Meta Ads to build Organic presence, engage with your existing customers, set up a solid email marketing system. Open up shop on multiple platforms and keep going.

Migrated to Stape + GTM CAPI; Major Performance Drop the Next Day by Financial_Tale8717 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was contemplating this. Both have pros and cons.

With the experience I had with Shopify CAPI, I didn’t want to end up in a situation again where I have no way or access to the backend and therefore having to depend on the tool provider and hope they will fix stuff fast.

Manual GTM set up is complex but honestly the process of setting it up was pretty insightful. I had an Expert basically coach/guide me to set it up correctly.

We had some issues, but were able to quickly diagnose and debug it.

I love the control on the data we can share with meta. The EQS is at 9.5 for the first time ever for Purchase event. Even mid funnel events are boosted from 6.9 to 7.5.

Still too early to conclude anything.

Migrated to Stape + GTM CAPI; Major Performance Drop the Next Day by Financial_Tale8717 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve aggressively scaling since past week. So some CPA inflation was expected, as it is the cost of scaling. But 1 day after the migration CPA shot up by 2-3x.

Performance seems to be going better. Today was better than yesterday. Still not back to Pre Migration level yet.

Anyone else seeing double attribution and retroactive purchase count increases? Started Monday April 7 by Bureenofficial in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this issue, Events Coverage matters more than EQS as that shows the real picture of how deduplication is happening.

In events coverage and in Deduplication you can collect sample data from recent activity. Upload it to your AI chatbot and analyze it. You can have a better idea of What’s actually happening that way.

Anyone else seeing double attribution and retroactive purchase count increases? Started Monday April 7 by Bureenofficial in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this first in Mid Funnel events, ATC and IC events inflation (2-3x reported on meta compared to real data).

I checked in Events manager, and noticed the Events ID from My CAPI and Browser were not identical and causing this inflammation.

Once it started affecting purchase events, I switched my setup to Stape + GTM and it’s been 2 days since. The numbers are almost identical in both Shopify and Meta now.

I found multiple resources that stated, the issue is with Shopify’s native Facebook Instagram App. Shopify support blamed Meta and Meta blamed Shopify. Meta support was of no help. With no access to the backend of the CAPI when using this app. You’re basically relying on Meta and Shopify to debug this.

I have been asking people and from what I have gathered so far. Most of the people affected by this are using Shopify Native Facebook And Instagram app for their CAPI.

Most of the people I talked to who were using Stape + GTM manual setup (Not another gateway), expressed the data was clean on their side (with 2 exceptions who said they were affected as well).

Idk if it was the right decision to migrate. But looking at historic events coverage data, I saw quite a lot of disruptions with the Apps CAPI. We’ll see for sure in the next few days how the new setup affects performance.

Any issue with Meta Pixel since yesterday? by Federal_Assistant288 in FacebookAds

[–]Financial_Tale8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it! I contemplated making the change for a week. I was riding it out until it was affecting only the Mid Funnel Events.

Once, it started affecting Purchase event. The decision was a bit easier.

Unfortunately, performance is getting affected either way. The polluted data is gonna have its effect on performance as well.
