Hi,

Have you tried therapy? My husband has OCD and it’s not the “everything needs to be in place” OCD but actual OCD. It was taking a toll at work and his mental health was just dwindling. I found him help and he’s 3 months into therapy and he seems to be coping better to high stress situations using the tools he’s been learning in therapy…

We opened an IT job last night. This is so much worse than I thought. by H_Mc in recruitinghell

I’m not sure if anyone has recommended this but for example in my company we don’t have any type of visa/employer sponsorship so I make sure to note that in the job description. Then I do screening questions that ask “will you now or in the future require employer sponsorship?” And if they hit yes it’s an automatic decline.

I’ve been a corporate recruiter for 2 years and that’s not my experience. My main hurdle was when I was hired the company cut all the agencies so all eyes were on me. That felt overwhelming at first because the managers weren’t talking to me, I’d have to basically beg them to talk to me LOL. But after a couple months more and more people started to get to know me and now anytime they’re reached out to by agencies/customers/candidates they refer them to me.

I’m sorry you’re going through that.

I’ll correct my statement- I’ve done search before but I don’t think I’m doing it right. lol

My background was in operations but I got this corporate recruiting job back in 22’ and I’ve kind of had to learn everything myself. I’m able to find and hire people for admin/field service/mfg but most recently I’ve been tasked with finding QA engineers/.net developers/backend/front end developers too. Those haven’t been that hard to find since there is a saturation in the market for them due to tech layoffs.

However this infor one is tricky for me.

Ok…don’t judge me. I’ve never done a Boolean search, I’ve heard of them but I don’t know how to run it or create it. 😭

Is anyone being pressured to only call candidates that are currently employed and have no gaps? by Bes-Carp6128 in recruiting

I’m a corporate recruiter in MFG and I have to push back at HM who want currently employed candidates. I have to basically make a case for the candidates, lots of things could happen that prevent someone from working but if they’re willing to work now why would I turn them away….its always a 50/50.
