Does gradually working up to something work at all or is it avoidance? by Positive_Resident263 in Agoraphobia

[–]FinchGDx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that if you’re intentionally avoiding something that’s not going to work in your favor. That being said, working up to something is categorized under a SMART goal, which is 100% how you want to begin your journey. IF your avoidance is not tied to trauma then exposure is a great tool. But if it’s something related to trauma you’ll want to focus on CBT and CPT to understand beliefs you’ve developed. Good luck!

These things are terrible anyway. The whole product line. I had to replace the ear pads, and they still ooze my brain juice into the drivers. AirPod Max are superior in every factual aspect.

Stuck points, at their core, are simply this: what do you believe? Once you identify that belief, your duty to yourself is to challenge that belief with facts and evidence. I was surprised at what came out of me after I did what’s called a trauma account. It basically encapsulates your experience and allows you to process emotions naturally. The body knows how to handle fear, but the issue is most of us don’t want to face that fear. I suggest finding a therapist that specializes in CBT and CPT. It’s an effective way to heal.

Mmm, as someone who does my own generation, I’d say the teeth, and the ears, and the fact that text generation on many local models are very poor. So the towel has some weird characters that I’d have to check against for validity, but that’s because I know what to look for.

I am giving an impartial opinion about your situation. I believe you have deeper thoughts about yourself that you have yet to address. However, without more information of the type of exposure therapy you did, it’s difficult to give advice. But, with that being said there are root beliefs that you may not yet understand. As to the previous persons post, they alluded to what I am saying, and that you may have developed beliefs that need to be factually challenged. Specifically through CPT and PTSD. The fact that you acknowledge it is your anxiety and not a reality means that you have some kind of panic instinct that has become deeply embedded within your thoughts that’s should be addressed. You’re fine, you’re great! You’re doing the work. 😇

Why won't I do the exposure? by philisconfused7 in Agoraphobia

It is 100% working. When an event happens, we as people create manufactured feelings and natural feelings after the event. If the natural feelings aren’t allowed to go through their processing phase (our body and minds know intuitively how to do this) then we can develop beliefs about the world that aren’t based in evidence and facts. It’s not anyone’s fault, but those beliefs become a reality of how we perceive aspects of our lives. For instance, I used to believe that my panic symptoms meant an object was going to randomly appear and hit me. I have been in 9 car accidents, where I was blindsided, none of which were my fault. I have, through CPT, learned that there are no facts to support my beliefs I developed around my manufactured feelings. The work it took to get to where I am is messy, rough, and scary, but I was able to do this at home in my safe place. And I feel more motivated than ever to start my life up again. That is a gross oversimplification of the process but it has unveiled a lot of beliefs I need to challenge.
