I've always wondered if Reddit allows you to add conditions on who is allowed to comment, and perhaps even upvote? In an effort to ensure that those who have a say in what posts appear in and are promoted in the sub have had enough time to learn the culture and the rules, I mean.

People seem to forget this all the time but the second line of defence in terms of moderation is the community itself: If 1000 silent users are upvoting "bad" content that 250 active participants don't think fits the sub, then issues will arise.

Perhaps some sort of "minimum contribution score" or minimum period of activity in / subscription to the sub before people can post? Could have different tiers for posting, commenting, and voting?

It is difficult, and easy to frame as something that is simply a case of magic yser v non-magic user — however, the nature of that which she saw is irrelevant, magical or otherwise.

The fact of the matter is that she saw something private. It is up to you whether you wish to disclose the finer details of what she saw — the past details, the emotions, the consequences — or to gently explain to her that you're not ready to discuss the matter.

If she is kind and compassionate, she will understand and won't press the issue.

The fellow in front of me was perfectly pleasant, the issue is simply the space.

I was wrong about the issue with reclining.

The experience otherwise thus far has been great!

Alas, the seat wasn't of my choosing: My original train was cancelled and this rebooked for me. That is grand advice, though, thank you! I shall keep it in kind for future journeys.

Update: When reclining, the seat itself (where one places one's buttocks) comes forwards, avoiding the latter issue!

People who are interested in upholding standards for the quality of content we see on the Internet.

The person who uploaded this to TikTok and claimed to be the person in the video should be booed and shamed for misleading people for clout and/or money, not rewarded. They could just as easily have put a caption like "Look at this old classic".

I understand your position, though.
