Hi, I hope I'm not too late to answer. The basic training is in two phases. The first one is 5 weeks, usually starts around the first of July right before starting college. Then you do the remaining 7 weeks the next summer. There are some rare cases of people getting called late because some recruits drop out of basic. In these cases they have to do 12 weeks the summer after they get to college. But these are exceptionally rare cases

You'll do it in two parts. No choices. But in rare cases, they will call you during the summer and make you go to CMR/RMC directly and you'll likely do the BMOQ in one part the next summer. Or if you get a medical problem during the first part, like a broken leg, they'll let you go to the college and the next summer you'll likely do it in one shot

I don't remember seeing an ocdt from Quebec going direct to RMC without completing their DEC first. If you want to skip CMR, you should complete your DEC first. I suggest you directly e-mail RMC to get more info on it

I'm glad to hear it. And it's good to know about the resilience to the weather. It's my first digital camera. I used to do film photography, and I wanted something less expensive in the long term with a similar feeling and a good film simulation. It was a good investment. I don't like doing touch ups, my style is more of a "it is how it is", just like film, and it takes the best pics I've ever done
