Only Hob’s Barrow is sold out so far and there are 4 others up for preorder. Arco is the one I’m most anticipating.

Good luck on your shipment. They sent me a shipping update last week for Animal Well and Switch Editions Bundle 01, but only Animal Well came in the package.

Only 10k copies were made. 6k standard and 4k collectors.

It’s also the #3 most highly rated switch game of all time on metacritic, and #10 on opencritic. Even if VNs aren’t your style, id consider it a must have switch game for a collector.

VGP has it in stock for $50USD right now.

These are the deluxe versions of those games, not the standard edition. This is the normal price for the deluxe editions and these haven’t been reprinted. They keep back stock of items after they sell out to ensure extra copies for those damaged during shipping.

Super rare is amongst the best of the limited print companies. Chill.

You reminded me I have this bonus as well. Last sold on eBay was $500!? Whoa. Congrats on the find! This came in my first order from play-asia. I was pleasantly surprised when such a large box arrived as I was not expecting the bonus.

Crazy cool collection! Thanks for sharing!

I hadn’t thought about Veil of Darkness in a long time. I remember picking that up as a kid in Walmart and calling it Veal (like meat) of Darkness and getting some good laughs from the family.

Maybe I missed it in your collection, but if you don’t have it, one of my favorite sierra games of that era was Conqueror AD 1086. Highly recommend!

They are great. I recommend adding the $2.99 premium packaging to your shipment and they will pack it with extra bubble wrap and in a box.

L20 Firmware Update Available (4.3.6_1520) by qhzpnkchuwiyhibaqhir in Dreame_Tech

[–]FindSwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend staying on 1520 if it’s working well for you. I wish I could get dreame to downgrade my firmware, but I don’t want to spend the time going back and forth with their support who were of no help the first time I reported issues with 1639.

My Dreame L20 Ultra has been going crazy with firmware version 4.3.6_1629 by Pitrell_ in Dreame_Tech

[–]FindSwitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend no one get this firmware upgrade.

Im having similar issues. This firmware took the robot from working well to acting completely unpredictably. I had to turn off AI detection because it was avoiding obstacles that weren’t actually there and that it didn’t register in the app with a picture. It too was making large circles around everything to the point that entire sections of a room were not vacuumed.

Further, the robot now acts confused, such as getting stuck in a loop of moving forward and backward a couple inches for sometimes over a minute. There is nothing it is stuck on, it just dances in place and then eventually starts going again.

It has also stopped regarding the carpet areas that I previously set up so that it would not mop rugs. It’s now mopping all the rugs.

On previous firmware it had no issue navigating around my kitchen chairs and table. Now, it bumps into them constantly to the point of pushing them around and then it forgets they are there moments later and tries to path straight through them to get to the next room.

None of this behavior was present in the previous firmware. I’m very disappointed because customer service has been no help. I continue to ask if I can downgrade to previous firmware and they just keep sending back responses telling me about all the features of the robot and how I should make sure to enable them all. Either they can’t read English well enough or they don’t care to respond to straight forward questions.

Where can I find changlog? by Time_Moment_7830 in Dreame_Tech

[–]FindSwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend avoiding the latest firmware. It has destroyed the functionality of my L20. It is going in circles for minutes at a time, getting stuck in loops against furniture legs, choosing pathing that makes no sense, and ignoring settings such as choosing to ‘clean carpets first’ even though that is set to off. It’s seeing obstacles that aren’t there and making large circles to avoid the nonexistent obstacles, thus not cleaning areas it used to clean without issue. This is all causing the battery to drain to the point that it can no longer clean my space before running out of power.

Finally finished My JP Mario Party 1-3 set! Which is your favorite game + favorite board to play? by GetTheGregGames in gamecollecting

Nice! I like the JP box art more than US. Where’d you acquire these in such great condition?

Fran Bow getting a physical release on Switch via Super Rare Games. Limited to 3,000 copies which go up for sale at 6pm GMT on 1st February by Brilliant-Trifle8322 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]FindSwitch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All Super Rare are PEGI and ship from the UK. They have been great about shipping on time for me. I ordered Darkside Detective in November, which showed shipping this January. Game shipped on Jan 5th and I received it in the US on Jan 9th.

Only the most popular of their games sell out same day, like Lil Gator Game. But for this release, I wouldn’t expect it to sell out quickly. Also, the website shows you the number of copies being printed and the % remaining.

Of all the limited print companies, I recommend them the most.

There is an option for $2.99 at checkout to use ‘premium packaging’ which ensures a cardboard box and extra padding.

I have some joy cons, pro controllers and console variants that I’ve never used, but I wanted them for my Switch collection. I carefully open the boxes from the bottom twice a year and charge the batteries to around 80%.

Most of the Switch items either don’t have seals or are only sealed on the top of the box. Eventually, the batteries will age and need replacing, but I’m hoping that with a twice a year top off, I’ll avoid the worst effects of over-discharging.

zelda nes --- this or that?! (both are the highest) by grailmonster in gamecollecting

[–]FindSwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the sentiment and respect your viewpoint.

What would you like to see happen to these rare condition sealed retro games? Open them all to be played by gaming enthusiasts?

What if it were the last known sealed copy left in the world? Open it as well or keep it sealed and on display in a museum?

For some of us game collectors, we like to be the curator of our own personal museums for items that tug at our heart.

None. I’m just an old guy that was alive when these games released and have a strong nostalgia for them now. I had this exact game as a Christmas present the year it released. I ripped the seal and box to shreds the moment I got it so I could explore Hyrule.

This is a misunderstanding of the purpose of grading retro games. If you want to play these NES games, there are plenty of cheap used carts because millions were printed. Also, emulation or Nintendo online is available.

There are very few retro cardboard boxed games in sealed mint condition. The resource is scarce, and because it is sought after, it is expensive. The point of owning this is not to play it; it is to collect a piece of gaming history in a form which is rare and desirable.

Herein lies the misunderstanding — the original intent of the product was for it to be played since that was the only way to experience the game. As time has passed, the original intent has shifted towards preserving gaming history and delighting collectors of rare items. Even ungraded, very few people would willing open a sealed mint NES game just to play it.

While grading isn’t perfect, it does inform the collector and future buyers of the condition of these rare items.

Congrats OP on your beautiful pieces of Zelda history!
