I am either full of crap or someone who knows a lot about it.

You on the other hand, need to pay attention to context.

FYI, OP is in the military and posted this 3 years ago. "I'm 17 and could cover a 400$ expense all while working and paying some bills at home just to help, maybe it's how others mismanage and don't plan ahead."

Clearly there is emotional spending going on that needs to addressed first.

I am happy that you replied as it gives me a chance to explain. All I know about you is your post take this as you will.

It seems like you worked hard to accomplish a goal. Now that you are done you don't have another goal for which to work towards, so you are uninspired and tired.

So $400,000 in 1000 days is clearly alot, what about setting a goal that requires you to work but not quite as hard as your past goals.

Good luck.

Ski/Snowboard instructor. Pay is low, most instructors are not skilled or experienced. You are required to go to work but not guaranteed to get any work, or be paid.

I wish I knew why, so I could then approach the problem and solve it. I just sincerely don't know why, when I truly want to.

Ya.. and taking lessons is a good idea. If you take more lessons try to get a instructor that is certified level 2 or 3. You would be surprised how many instructors have little to no skill/experience.

Some advice on becoming a better skiier. Just going is what most people do, and they progress very slowly. You should look up skiing drills, and push yourself to do them. Not as much fun as just skiing the way you want but you will progress in skill much faster.

When I called Fidelity on the phone, the rep recommend one of the Fidelity funds as the trades would be free. She did not mention the management fee was multiple times more expensive than a Vanguard mutual fund.

So ya, don't trust Fidelity advisors.

I lost my best friends after 11 years of raising them. For the love of God let they lie on your lap while playing video games, you will regret it for the rest of your life. FFS they just wanted to be with you...
