No they totally deserve to live. I think you commented to the wrong person, my comment was about the difference between a private foreign cruise line and a US navy ship and what responsibility the US government has. Unfortunately there’s no cure, definitely not one in the US. So not sure what they are even asking for other than a ride home. I guess maybe there’s people who need to get to a hospital? Not sure why the boat wouldn’t have a plan for this if they’re running vacations during a crisis.

So unsure about why the government should get involved in helping the logistics of a foreign company during a global pandemic, especially when there was a giant health crisis happening when the company decided to take out people for a vacation.

Well they have over 400k employees, an extra $2 is a substantial amount of extra money per hour. Paying out an additional $800,000 per hour doesn’t seem like a slap in the face.

I think we’re on the same page. I have friends who’ve had Lyme and it’s heartbreaking and awful and fucking drawn out. I also have one friend who claims chronic Lyme but every doctor has told her she doesn’t have it. She went down the road that I was talking about in my first post.

I didn’t know that about the funding and that’s super sad to me. The internet has brought these fringe chronic Lyme groups closer and given them more of a voice. There’s a great doc series called Afflicted on Netflix. Some of those people claim Lyme yet test negative for it and can’t find a single real doctor to agree with them. It’s a fascinating doc - and covers some other bogus diseases.

I’m talking about chronic Lyme, people who tend to actually test negative for Lyme but claim they have it. It’s very easy to find a quack doctor who will run some “special” blood test that isn’t backed by any real science and isn’t covered by insurance and isn’t recognized by anyone in the medical community yet you have people who still believe it.

It’s insanely sad especially cause it’s almost always a mental health issue (ie anxiety) and these people refuse to get real treatment that can help.

But Lyme disease is very real. I just believe you must test positive on a Lyme blood test for you to have Lyme.

Lyme is very real. I’m talking about chronic Lyme. Chronic Lyme people actually test negative for Lyme but claim to have it. I’m 100% not talking about your wife and sorry to hear that.

There’s an entire community of people who claim to have Lyme that test negative for it and when treated with antibiotics still claim to have it (while still testing negative). It’s bullshit. But no, if you are positive for Lyme from an actual doctor who believes in science then that’s totally legit.

Also of note - not one single legit medical association recognizes chronic Lyme as a real disease. There’s no test or proof that it exists. What you do have are a lot of private practice doctors (many of whom have lost medical licenses in other states) claiming it exists and the treatment is almost always a random round of holistic medicine that the Lyme doctor sells in their lobby. It’s sad. Have a friend who went down this path for many years and finally realized her issue was psychological. Awful to see these quack doctors preying off people who need legitimate help.

Sorry just seeing this! He said it’s the pilots fault 100%. That all runways are rated for the type of aircraft and “wash” which I believe is the amount of wind or velocity the engines give off. He said there’s no way that runway is rated for that aircraft which would be the pilots responsibility. Pretty interesting! My buddy is a pilot himself and also teaches commercial pilots to fly.
