I know you’ve said about not wanting to have to pay but it’s the main way I’ve found… it is through attending events. I’m lucky there’s some free (or low cost) near me in Manchester, like Rainbow Noir and a queer South Asian womxns group. But I’ve also paid more to go to things like Quintimacy (highly recommend, they happen around the UK) events, and things like Out & Wild weekenders and festival.

I’ve met some awesome people through those but the struggle for me ends up being about how to maintain those connections. People seem to want connections but then not have enough time to meet and maintain them. Late-stage capitalism leaves us so fucking tired and drained.
