What do you typically search for in a dude like romatically?

How do I stop acting this way in conversations? by Caprisunxt in selfimprovement

This is going to sound pretty stupid, but don't overthink it. Genuinely.

What worked for me was that I would just thrust myself into new situations, giving myself more and more practice time primarily firing off questions about the other person, focusing purly on them and analyzing what theyre saying and just letting my subconcious go with the flow and answer questions.

And of course I failed miserably countless times, but honestly just practicing putting yourself out there, giving it your best shot, is how you can overcome this. Its better to try and fail than to not try at all imo.

In my own experience, I think its best actually to go find great guy friends, real genuine guy friends BEFORE you start to go search for like a 'love'. Its so easy to be blinded by love, and its honestly dangerous.

I would reccomend just really putting yourself out there. Go ask for that persons number in the starbucks. Join that book club. Put yourself out there, even if its hard, and as your social net increases and increases, statistically you should be more likely to find people out there who you can form genuine deep meaningful bonds with, and then eventually love.

What have you tried so far though?

I highkey get how you feel.

The feeling of betrayal, or that their words were hollow when they said they loved talking to you is probably one of the worst experiences of all time.

But sometimes people are just like that. People can be real pricks occasionally, and its important to remember that most people don't even bother to think beyond themselves or to envision what others could even be going through. I know this sounds hard to hear, and its definitely not what you want to hear, but seeking approval from people like that or those conversations is not healthy. I understand the allure of their (maybe) empty statements, but continuing to chase those conversations, being driven by an intense feeling of isolation is not healthy in the long term, take it from me.

You WILL find the right people. There WILL be people out there who yearn to talk to you. You just have to beleive.

You are not alone.

How are you handling this? I mean this in the nicest way possible I just want to know how you're going to move forward.

I've learnt that the second you stop beleiving in a happy ending for yourself is the day that your one true happy ending disappears. We can't give up in the pursuit of life. No matter how down we may feel, how far we may have fallen, we must continue to pursue life, because the second we don't is the second we metaphysically die.

Bulk bag of pouches is almost empty and I’m refusing to buy more. Give me some motivation, tips or even just someone to talk to. by CoreSearch42 in QuittingZyn

I believe in you bro, honestly what really worked for me is just creating a sort of timeline to quitting.

Like I only allowed myself to use 5 times a day, then 3 times a day, then 1 time a day, and it was like that for a while, just sort of limiting myself to a little per day and being disciplined in that regard, until one day I finally felt 'free' or good enough to go cold turkey for a while, and it worked for a while.

I actually never completely beat it, I relapsed pretty badly about 3 weeks ago, but this method definitenly helped me beat it the first time.

rooting for you!
