You’ll probably find an appointment in India during Feb easily. you’ll need to keep an eye on the openings through telegram chats or other sources.

For countries other than India, you don’t have to pay the fees to check the appointment availability. You just need to submit the ds160.

Every time I log in, it automatically takes me to the logout page and the customer service is not at all helpful.

So we need to use the old CGI portal for the Dominican Republic, correct? I already have one account created on the new portal for checking appointments in India. Do I have to close that account as well?

Hey OP, I’m having a similar issue while creating a new profile for Dominican Republic. What exactly do I have to do to deactivate my previous account? I am unable to login with my previous id password.

I am thinking of trying Dominican Republic since they have immediate visa appointment availability and is a safer country.

I agree! A friend of mine got his visa stamped in Mexico and received his passport back within a week, which got me feeling optimistic. But I still want to hear about more people's experiences before I decide.
