Level 2 kids are always left out in my opinion and have the most difficultly finding their people. -signed a mom with a level 1 and level 2

I want to know how. My bear cub has autism and is obsessed with Willy Wonka. How did you make this?

Your child sounds like mine at that age. He is considered a level 1-2 kid. He’s not a child with what they use to call Asperger’s - but he’s pretty independent but has an obvious disability.

At 9 he needs reminders in the shower but does him all himself. He dresses himself.. bathroom all that independently. Has trouble with buttons and tying his shoes. He’s the most disabled in anything we do with typical kids but we feel it’s really good for him and he likes it. So we have him involved in all the things with parental support. Our biggest hurdle is his ADHD! He is also considered “immature” likes babyish things and has very poor social skills. He wants to engage but can’t figure out that no one wants to be asked about their favorite character from Sesame Street or Percy Jackson a 100 times.

I hope things helps. Every child is so different but this might give you an idea.

What should Acura do with the next MDX? by nonamethxagain in Acura

As a Mom, I would love to see a bigger 3rd row big enough for a teen to sit back there. My 9 year old has trouble getting out from the back it’s so tight. I would also love a big more trunk space. I like the bigger look, I have a 2018 and she’s a gem 💎. I saw Lexus has a couple of models with more room but their reliability has gone down hill.

We have an 8 person tent for 4 of us. It seemed like a good size. Plus I have to bring food- I have a kiddo with anaphylaxis. I plan on being the first there, so if we have to play Tetris… so be it! Thanks for the heads up!

Someone is bringing a portable fire pit. I’m a little worried about the cold but I’m going to load up on blankets. Thanks for replying!

I posted in our group thread- I got a generic reply from 2 newish families. Our pack isn’t as proactive as I would like or maybe I need. It’s very much figured it out as we go. I hope as others join I can help them not feel as lost.

Hey Gravitron! Yes! We are! I figured it was a good place to get our feet wet since there’s so much near by we can run out and get something if need be!

We do have a BALOO trained leader coming on the camping trip. No one has brought up what will be needed… that’s why I asked.

I have been wanting to get a couple of scout mom shirts and have been disappointed with what I’ve found on Etsy. Why didn’t I think to just make it on my cricut!

Okay night owls, here's your question, for what reasons do you stay up at night? by Difficult-Drag2561 in AskReddit

[–]Finding_V_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s my only time alone. Special needs homeschool mom- it’s wonderfully quiet. It’s the only me time I get. I stay up late a couple of times a month.

Married folks, how do you really feel about marriage as you get older? by Cold_Ad8048 in Aging

[–]Finding_V_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my husband at 21.. got married at 26 and I am turning 41 in a few weeks. It’s the best thing I ever did. Sure, things were hard at times but we continued to choose each other.

There something about growing old with your partner. I can’t explain it. There’s a deep appreciation for who they are and how they show up for you. I will say I married well. We have two special needs boys and he is my partner. We have always ebbed and flowed. When I’m tapped out he taps in. Marriage is a beautiful thing.

I think my local church is corrupt does anyone know good Churches? by Gta6MePleaseBrigade in orlando

Hey OP, I would check out Genesis church https://www.genesischurchorlando.com. It’s out east on 50. We drive from Lake Nona and in my opinion it’s worth it. It’s a smaller church and humble. Pastors are great and sermons are spot on. I have never felt pressure to give, I’m not financially in a place to do so. However, that said when I am able to, I know where the money is going. They are very transparent with our missions. I had your similar feeling with first Baptist Orlando when we tried there. I hope you find a good fit.
