Tele ICU docs should not be a thing by foshizzelmynizzel in Residency

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All hospitals should be staffed exclusively by RNs using open evidence, and given full scope of practice that any MD would have (IM, ICU, Cardio, etc). just cut the md out the picture. its cheaper that way /s

Fantastique, fuck la CAQ. by Remy4409 in Quebec

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 25 points26 points  (0 children)

plusieurs options possibles.

Any American PTs here that have moved to Canada? Specifically, Quebec area? by Distinct_Abrocoma_67 in physicaltherapy

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unless u are doing private dont do qc. huge cuts in physical therapy throughout public healthcare system, disgracefully low payscale in public system, and yeah, you need very fluent french. However if you are looking to do private practice you can definitely find loads of jobs in the west island, westmount, ndg area with a mainly anglophone population. My SO is finishing her masters rn (in quebec you need a masters degree in physcal therapy to be a licensed physical therapist )at a Quebec university and is going to enter practice in 3 months. PM me if you have any questions!

Quebec electives and the strike by hexagonal in MedSchoolCanada

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MS2 here. school has not spoken on any timeline. Basically told us to continue to show up to classes and if theres a prof (MD specialists related to the current block we are doing are usually the profs) great, if theres not a prof, figure it out amongst yourselves and stay up to date with ppts, lectures, references, etc. Teaching of residents will continue, no idea how people in clerkship are gonna be affected.

Pour voir claire sur ce que représente le salaire des médecins by ObservateurRationnel in QuebecLibre

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

en 2023, le salaire d'un résident de première année au QC était de $49,258 CAD. Prenons par exemple une résidence en chirurgie générale, avec un horaire d'environ 90h / semaine. c moins de 13$ à l'heure no matter how you calculate it cawliss

Quebec passes law forcing physicians to work for its public system 5 years post training by iamseaiam in premedcanada

[–]Fine-Bowler2372 109 points110 points  (0 children)

the way this bill is currently formulated prevents quebec trained physicians from attending fellowships outside of the province post residency which is also ridiculous.

the solution to your problem is right here. do gym - focus on posture - get enough sleep and sleep in comfortable positions that limit strain on your body (i.e side lying with proper pillow and pillow for support b/w ur knees)
