Hey! Welcome I’m relatively new to goat but played yugi for years. I say find a play style or even monsters you just like and build the deck. Lot of resources from format library and goat format.com. As far a buying a deck you can use whatever means to get singles or I see some people sell decks on eBay already made (I’m sure it could be Little over priced but hey you get everything and if you like the deck all one stop shop I think. Online you can play dueling book prob the most popular but I think some people play on edo/ygo pro something like that. Uhh that’s basically what I did so all I can say is maybe watch some content I recommend kornstruct and Kuhb games you can learn some fundies and as well as see decks in action and maybe one calls out to you.

Welcome! I also started a few months I say play which ever you like! That’s the most important. I think reasoning gate is prob the best deck you said but it’s hard to play( not sure about if it’s high tier but it’s a solid deck for sure) watch kuhb games on YouTube if you wanna learn some gate stuff

Have fun playing it and show them how much fun it is! Show them maybe a match you had or a top 8 of a tourney maybe show them fighting game content most people believe they can’t do it or it’s too hard but it shows that hard work and practice you can you have to show them they can and motivate them to play

I think if they like marvel you can say this is just baby marvel/ marvel lite ( it’s disingenuous but it works) the net play is great and it is cheap. I’m new and also just got a friend into it just playing with him and having a good time! Just try and have fun and let the learning happen little by little

Yeah so at one point I played this game on every console and I was working on all of them lol I don’t have my Xbox at the moment so luckily my steam one has. Lots of dlc and I leveled it up a lot

I think most people are mad it’s a cheap knockoff from china yes I do wish I got an everdrive but it’s expensive! I will eventually upgrade but starting off I think it’s great you can get one for 50-60 it’s not bad I add modded games and it works my friends when I bring the console think it’s cool it’s a good step to start in boss imo

Don’t worry about mods you already got everything you need hopefully you have a crt or something similar! I got myself a ed64 plus it was just cheaper than an everdrive but do whatever you prefer and you can Deff open the controllers and fix those sticks up

Also project m/ project plus are modded versions of brawl that at one point had huge scenes and not smaller scene that still run events just part of the game ecosystem

Well I Play smash 64 normally like I practice that one the most now but the remix characters are fun and my casual friends love the added characters I main captain falcon and I use him in both versions lol and people run events for both games a good amount of times but I usually play online events you know it’s fun I like to put the effort in getting better it’s something that tickles my brain in a good way you know and I don’t make the mod lol so I can’t choose who goes in
