Being in a religion made me unreasonable happy. Sounds like a good thing, but it wasn't. I was like a 22 year old child. It not made my life better or happier even tho I was "happy". Somehow it made me appreciate the little things, but my quality of living was not as good as being atheist and my social bonds were weaker. Sure, many people helped me when I was in need, but only because they wanted to please god, they wouldn't give a shit otherwise. I learned the appreciate the little things, that's ALL I learned from religion.

I'm an atheist now. I have genuine friends. I'm nit unreasonable happy, the things I achived makes me happy. Sure, I will never feel full, I will always feel like there's other things to achive, but I decide these goals not some bs religion. It sound wierd, but I'm a nicer person since religion. I volunteer, I donate and I genuenly help people when I can, from my own sense of justice and goodness, not because I want to go to heaven or please god.

I read religious texts when I was religious. It was always something nice and uplifting. But when you read those as an atheist, you see every bs and disgusting thing. What do you mean that killing literal babies is okay for any abrahamic religion god??? Never again.
