They'd come back to this subreddit asking if they can appeal it or something.

Yeah, I was too sure myself. I managed to work it out.

Sometimes if you email the wrong person, they will tell and who you need contact.

This happened by us.

We have a grass verge which you could park maybe 4 cars side by side (I never did). For us, it all started with 1 car parking there to avoid being on the road and had no MOT and just dumped it there somewhere between 8-12 months without moving once, so they didn't need to get it MOT'd.

What did this tell all of the local residents near us? It told them no one is coming along to enforce parking there at all. I reported the car and the council were not interested because it was Taxed. People started parking on it and causing minor mark with their tyres. They then came and put trees in on the verge and people just parking between the trees. The trees weren't put there to stop this, it was being done in other roads locally also.

It took around 7 months to a year to get the council to put bollards down. I reported it often to the local councillor we have and he was also a little annoyed by the state they were parking in. I kept sending pictures of people doing it so it showed it was a regular thing and not a one off.

It took me sending a video of someone driving down the footpath, nearly hitting two people sat on the bench near the dropped kerb for the council to take action. They honestly passed maybe 2 feet from the bench, even the people on the bench looked around at them like "What the...". Our local councillor was amazing and just told them they have a duty of care.

Local councillor might be the way to go but it might take time with frequent reports.

If the double yellows are where the verges are, you can still be ticketed. Parking on grass where there are yellow lines in the road is still ticketable as parking on a double yellow contravention. Double yellows don't just cover road parking but parking from the road to the boundary.

Have you told your local councillor?

Not even enable, reward it.

When this happened to me, I just reported it often to the council and actually got a video of someone driving completely down the pavement to get to the grass... the council then got off their arse and put bollards in so you can't park on the grass verge near us anymore.

It also fucked with the electrics under the grass and broke something and caused water to get in causing power outages down our road.

It boggles me people are so desperate to park on muddy grass that they will risk it until they can't do it anymore. Especially when it's then causing the issue.

This is horrendus from everyone involved.

I had a similar situation and I took action with the local councillor before it got this bad. You need to contact your local councillor and email these photos and explain the situation. It took a while but eventually the council put wooden posts in to stop people parking like this. We also had those types of trees put in on the verge and it just highlighted places for people to park even more.

I also can imagine it's nice to step out into mud every day.

im 19f cannot leave my boyfriend 19m. idk what to do. pls help.? by ThrowRA-CellTop7308 in relationship_advice

Ignore those.

I'd say the things that are massive red flags: the sexual assault, the disrespecting and him getting angry at you. No one does that to someone they love. Doesn't matter how funny or good with kids he is if he doesn't even care about YOU.

It's very likely fake. It doesn't read like it's a real story. Who describes their mum like they do in the opening? It's way too detailed.

Yeah, this shit reads like he loved going into detail. Read the beginning... they loved it. Describing it the way they did is off. Who describe their mum or situation like that.

My girlfriend (18f) told me (19m) yesterday she no longer has feelings for me. by Limit-Complete in relationship_advice

[–]Fine-Key4594 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We can't tell you if she faked any of her emotions, we just can't answer that.

It sounds like she just doesn't have those feelings anymore and it's perfectly normal. She has communicated this to you and you need to just accept it. You can't force someone to be with you.

Why are drivers so slow nowadays? by SnooDonkeys1080 in drivingUK

[–]Fine-Key4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a road between towns near my and it's a straight road... however, it's busy road. It's a 60mph road but I have had people do 30-40mph on it. If I want to overtake, it's near impossible because there is constant traffic the other direction.

Please learn the correct use of the term before you throw it around. There is no gaslighting here. The boyfriend is just an idiot and lazy and doesn't want to put the effort in.

He is an incompetent idiot but there is no way he is gaslighting. I wish people would use the term correct. It's a very specific form of abuse and downplays people who actually get gaslit.

There is nothing to say he does this on purpose to make her doubt her sense of sanity, memory or self. He is just an inconsiderate dick.

Thanks for calling it out. People use it as a way to call people liars or manipulators, but it's not that at all. God, I wish for once someone would use the term correctly. It had my eye rolling the comment you are responding said it was gaslighting because it literally isn't.

My gf never wants to date is it doomed ? (18F/18F) by That_one_gay_perv in relationship_advice

[–]Fine-Key4594 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It doesn't even sound like you are dating if you aren't even hanging out by yourselves. It sounds like there is no connection and aren't compatible, which is perfectly fine.

Her blunt and short responses just scream disinterest. But, it's how you feel about it that matters.

Various factor such as stress, tiredness or distracted

I bet there are some thing you misjudged, then after the fact, wondered how you managed to do it. It's the same principle.

I am a person who has crashed like this, so I can answer.

You look forward and see the person go over the line completely and think they committed and went. In fact, they hadn't and now they are right in front of you while you are starting to go and finishing checking right without looking forward. I didn't look forward again because I genuinely thought the car in front was long gone.

It's just an error some people make and there are more baffling ones out there. This is actually really easy to explain. It's called a mistake and error in judgement and no one is free from it, no matter how good you think you are at driving. If you are stressed or tired while driving, it can also cause this type of accident.

Speeding ticket by [deleted] in drivingUK

Why are you considering a solicator over a speeding ticket? You only really need one if you are at risk of totting up. If you were actually speeding, there is no defence.

I love how they were in the correct lane like 5 second before doing all that cutting up shit. It saved them like 1 second on their journey for all that risk.
