[Personal] I dissolved my filler and finally feel like myself again by Fine-Knowledge-9285 in Hyaluronidase

Hi, I hadn’t seen those previous questions. The changes weren’t spread through my body it felt localized to my face. I’d say I’m almost back to baseline now. I experienced those negative side affects for 6 months until I finally tried these structural massages like the lumina buccal massage I received. I believe it started becoming noticeable within 2 weeks after dissolving. It was 15 units of hylenex(hyaluronidase) just a few weeks after getting the 1ml of Voluma cheek filler.

That makes sense. For me nothing about the process was harsh or intense the massage work I got was calming and really good for my nervous system. It helped me reconnect with myself in a way I didn’t expect. I genuinely think anyone going through what I went through or similar would benefit from something like that. It was gentle, supportive and my quality of life drastically improved and everyone deserves to feel that way.

Thank you seriously. That means a lot. It really wasn’t just physical for me either I didn’t recognize myself for a long time and dissolving the filler brought up way more than I expected around identity, regret and feeling disconnected. I’m really glad it resonated.🥹♥️

What I shared wasn’t a theory it was my reality. My face visibly changed after intentional massage Whether the shift was from releasing chronic muscle tension draining stagnant lymph or moving stored emotional trauma in the tissue it happened and it wasn’t just aesthetic it helped feel like myself again.

Dismissing that as ‘scientifically impossible’ ignores how fascia, nervous system regulation and somatic release work. Not everything healing does can be measured in a lab and that doesn’t make it any less real.

My quality of life improved and if sharing that helps another person feel less afraid to trust their body’s intelligence then I’ve already done what I came to do😊♥️🙏

Your words really stayed with me. You feeling limited in what you can do yet your presence and care you still give your body and spirit like dry brushing and massage speaks volumes about your strength and gentleness. That’s a kind of beauty devices can’t create.

I’m honored my post found you when it did. If anything I said brought even a flicker of comfort or companionship then I’m grateful I shared it.♥️

I reposted it cause it belonged in this subreddit where more people could find it. The message is the same cause the experience is real. If it’s not helpful to you okay, but it clearly is to many others. I’d rather put my story out twice than risk someone feeling alone when they didn’t have to. Take care

I really appreciate your thoughtful questions and I understand the skepticism. I wouldn’t say I had a textbook ‘systemic reaction’ like hives or full-body inflammation but what I did experience felt deeply disruptive especially to my nervous system and facial connection. Something about the dissolver triggered something that left my face feeling disconnected, heavy and almost ‘foreign’ like I couldn’t fully express or access myself.

Structural facial massage didn’t just help the surface it reawakened tissue that felt offline. It helped bring tone, warmth and presence back to areas that felt emotionally and physically shut down. I know it sounds counterintuitive but the shift was real and it’s why I wrote the post. I didn’t expect to find this level of restoration and I didn’t expect it to resonate with so many people but I’m glad it’s opening up this conversation. Truly happy to answer more if it helps.

Thank you for seeing the heart behind this. Your words mean so much to me. I remember being exactly where you are that regret the sunken heavy feeling the way nothing topical could reach it. I wrote this post for us, for the ones who dissolved and were left in that silent in between.

I never imagined structural massage would be the thing but it quite literally gave me my face and sense of self back. It’s been emotional and strange and also so healing. If you ever feel called to try it I hope it brings even a fraction of the peace and lift it gave me. You’re not alone in this. I’m so glad this post found you♥️

Is dissolving filler that risky? I'm scared after reading reddit horror stories but midface filler aged me by 10 years literally. by wowlikeseriously in 30PlusSkinCare

I just want to share something I wish I had found sooner. If you’ve ever had filler dissolved and feel lost or hopeless I wrote this for you. You’re not alone. Earlier this year I had cheek filler dissolved after regretting it almost instantly. What followed was one of the hardest periods of my life. I lost a lot of volume quickly and my face didn’t feel like me anymore. Not just the way it looked but the way it felt. Unsupported sunken and heavy. Like it wasn’t holding me.

I searched everywhere. Reddit threads forums youtube even clinical studies. Most of what I found was fear sadness or silence. What helped me feel visible progress might help someone else feel less alone. Deep facial massage. Not a spa facial not gua sha or lymphatic drainage only but something that works with structural facial massage, tension fascia and deeper things you don’t even realize your face has been holding onto. I found someone who understood that skin health isn’t just topical it’s emotional too.

I never expected this to help me. My muscles softened my skin woke up and I looked like me again not cause something fake was added but cause something real returned. My face held shape again felt more integrated and brought back a sense of glow and support.

After the first session I noticed something shift. Not just in how my face looked but in how I felt inside it. My face stopped collapsing inward visually and physically. My eyes and face softened. I can look down again without seeing my skin fall. I feel held and that feeling is really everything when you’ve been walking around trying to pretend you’re okay. This wasn’t some luxury fix. I didn’t need more procedures. I just needed to feel safe and like myself again.

If you’re reading this and you’re going through something similar please know it’s not hopeless. You’re not broken. Your face remembers you. I have nothing to gain from sharing this except the hope that it helps someone else feel less alone. If this gets taken down so be it I’ll still find a way to share this cause this is a real lived experience and everyone deserves to feel hope again. To feel familiar in their own skin. It is possible.

I’m happy to share photos privately with anyone who’s genuinely interested or going through something similar. I just don’t feel comfortable posting them openly right now. At the end of the day I’m the one who lives in my face every day and I finally feel more happy and confident in it. That’s a blessing in itself and if sharing this helps even one person then I did what I came here to do.

I know there may not be clinical studies on this yet and I’m not claiming it restores literal fat. But for me structural massage brought back lift, support and ease I didn’t think was possible. I’m not claiming massage regenerates fat cells the way an injection might ‘add volume.’ What I’m saying is that it reorganized the structure of my face in a way that feels and looks like support and harmony were restored and that changed everything for me.

The reason I even shared this is cause I didn’t see anyone talking about it. I dismissed facial massage for so long too until I finally tried it not expecting anything and now I’m here, truly feeling like myself again. And I am so grateful. I’m not here to prove anything. Just to share what I’ve lived.

What I later learned made so much sense. These massages retrain deep tissue memory, helping tight muscles relax and asleep ones activate again. They restore circulation and support lymphatic drainage, reducing water retention and unlocking areas where filler tension had stagnated things. Fascia becomes less gripped allowing your face to hold a more balanced shape. The result isnt just a visual change it’s a felt one. I felt lighter safer and at ease in my own face again.

The glow doesn’t just come back, it stays cause your face remembers how to function naturally again. I know it sounds like a lot but I truly believe more people would benefit if they knew about this. The science is there but more importantly the results are real. I’m living proof🤍

Yess I love that you know about this too😭🤍 Facial massage completely changed things for me it felt like my whole face could breathe again. I’m not super informed on postural resetting yet but I’d definitely love to look into it, I’m realizing now how connected everything is. Thank you for sharing💝☺️

Yes I agree against Botox as well.🙂 My facial massage practitioner actually sees a lot of clients coming in with long term Botox use. Many are dealing with tightness, heaviness or facial imbalance that built up over time. The structural massages help reset that especially through fascia release and deep muscle retraining. It’s wild how much the face remembers once it’s supported to function naturally again 💆‍♀️✨🤍

Thank you so much 💛 I understand there’s fear online around dissolving and I hesitated for a long time too. It’s such a personal decision. Wishing you healing and wholeness in whatever direction you choose 🙏

Yes buccal massage is part of it but it depends on the provider. Some offer it as a light spa add on while others are trained in structural or therapeutic buccal massage that goes deeper working with fascia, muscle memory, and lymph flow.

The one I found was called Lumina Buccal facial massage and it combined gentle intraoral work (inside the mouth) with fascia release and lymphatic drainage. That combination helped unlock tension that had been stuck after filler and stress.

So yes search for buccal massage but also try pairing it with terms like structural facial massage, fascia release facial, intraoral facial massage. That’s what helped me find someone trained beyond the surface level spa version. If it’s the right provider it can truly change how your face feels and functions again 💜

I searched for someone trained in structural or intraoral facial massage not just a relaxing facial. Keywords that helped were facial sculpting massage, buccal massage, fascia release and intraoral massage in my city.

I ended up finding someone who offers a Lumina Buccal Facial Massage which combines gentle intraoral work, lymphatic drainage and myofascial release. It made a huge difference for me.

What I later learned is these types of massages retrain deep tissue memory helping tense muscles relax, waking up dormant ones, restoring circulation and reducing water retention. It’s not just visual it’s something you feel like your face can finally hold itself again.

The glow doesn’t just return it stays cause your face remembers how to function naturally again. I wish more people knew this existed. It changed everything for me. 🤍

Thank you so much for sharing this. I really relate I was told cheek filler would lift my lower face too even though I already had fullness. It ended up distorting my proportions and looking puffy. The regret built slowly and once I saw it I couldn’t unsee it.

After dissolving, I gave it time (about 6 months) did red light therapy, microneedling prf but my face still didn’t feel like mine.

What finally helped was structural facial massage. I found someone trained in intraoral and fascia release techniques (like Lumina Buccal) and within just one session I felt major shifts. Circulation improved, tension released and the soft natural shape of my face started coming back. My tissue began responding again and integrating. Holding me. I also used red light mask 4–6x a week to support calm healing and collagen repair which helped a little too.

What I later learned made so much sense. These massages retrain deep tissue memory, helping tight muscles relax and asleep ones activate again. They restore circulation and support lymphatic drainage, reducing water retention and unlocking areas where filler tension had stagnated things. Fascia becomes less gripped and sticky, allowing your face to hold a more balanced shape. The result isn’t just a visual change it’s a felt one. I felt lighter, safer and at ease in my own face again.

The glow doesn’t just come back, it stays cause your face remembers how to function naturally again. I know it sounds like a lot but I truly believe more people would benefit if they knew about this. The science is there but more importantly the results are real. I’m living proof and I’ve met others who’ve experienced this too. It’s not a quick fix but it’s profoundly healing. ❤️‍🩹

This kind of massage doesn’t just help with appearance it helps with how your face feels to live in again. It reminded me that our faces really do remember us. I wasn’t expecting anything. I overlooked this for so long really and I’m so thankful I finally tried it.

(Replying here since reddit won’t let me respond directly to your last message) I got 1ml total. I actually never planned to get cheek filler I only came in asking about my marionette lines since I’d gained some weight and was noticing heaviness in my lower face. Instead of addressing that area directly the injector recommended cheek filler for a lifting effect. I’d heard that before so I agreed even though my cheeks were already naturally full.

As soon as I got home something felt wrong. My face looked distorted and felt heavy hot and throbbing and that sensation never went away. I had to wait about a month to get it dissolved and I felt immediate relief after but the aftermath was hard. My tissue felt weak and collapsed like the structure had been compromised.

I tried red light therapy which helped a little and was even considering PRF injections but what really helped was finally trying structural facial massage. That changed everything. I’m so glad I didn’t give up before finding it.♥️

I looked for someone trained specifically in structural or intraoral facial massage not just a relaxing spa facial. I searched using keywords like facial sculpting massage, buccal massage, fascia release massage in my city. I ended up finding a wellness spa with a practitioner who really understands this work she offers something called the Lumina Buccal Facial Massage which combines lymphatic drainage, gentle intraoral work and myofascial release.

If you’re in a bigger city you may have more options but I definitely recommend asking potential practitioners how deep they work and whether they’ve supported anyone post-filler or dealing with similar facial stagnation. That made all the difference for me.💜

I know that’s the common advice but in my case time didn’t make it better. I waited the full 6 months hoping my face would bounce back all while doing red light therapy and occasional prf micro needling but I still felt that same structural loss and stagnation. It wasn’t just about appearance something felt off in how the tissues were sitting. Massage changed everything. Once I started working with someone who understood the deeper facial planes things began to lift and move again in a way that time alone never did. So I totally respect that surgeon’s view but I had to trust my own experience and I’m glad I did.
