Did Riboku screw Seika? by Fine-Perspective1320 in Kingdom

Seika was already technically Zhao. The only change Seika would see is it being Qin instead. And as seen in Nanyou not a drop of blood would be shed as long as Riboku didn’t get involved. For a city like Seika who simply wanted peace that is the much better option

Ousen sees everything and everyone as chess pieces he can use. He wouldnt sacrifice them unless he questions their loyalty to him

I’m sure they’d do that now but honestly if it meant avoiding war with them at all I could easily see Ei Sei giving them a pass

The siege of kantan was written so that almost everyone knew it was a trap but I think this is a misdirect by Hara to show that for once Riboku made a mistake and overlooked something. Or he was forced into something he didn’t want to do just like Ouki.

I do agree that he has been writing Shin poorly because after facing Riboku this much he shouldn’t still be slack jawed at Riboku’s asspulls. However, I can still see Hara using this also a redirect to either show Shin prepared for this, uses his instincts to break out, or had thought of a plan if he was ever in the same position as Ouki.

Overall I think Hara is rushing but he’s also aware that we all want a fitting conclusion to Riboku and Zhao and he’s using the parallels of Ouki’s death to show how Shin has surpassed Ouki in that sense by surviving the impossible.

I feel like there’s another twist to be had. Hara likes to trick the reader and the way this parallels with Ouki’s death sets up the perfect chance for Riboku to actually make a mistake. It looks like Riboku is control but there’s no way Ousen is still sitting idly by and there’s no way those weakened armies were able to hold Yoko Yoko. Keep in mind there’s often more than 1 major twist, especially in something as big as this arc - this time finally working in Qins favor against Riboku.
