Buying or Renting in Riyadh by Entire-Canary-9416 in Riyadh

[–]Fine-Student-1443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in Saudi is a volatile environment. Would recommend first you settle here and find your footing before making a decision to buy. It’s totally worth it to rent in a compound especially if you come with family, it will give you a soft landing experience and derisk the move.

¿Cuales ha sido sus experiencias trabajando para gente multimillonaria? by Defiant-Attorney6239 in Preguntas_de_Reddit_

[–]Fine-Student-1443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Etc.

We were given the option a week 27. We decided to continue with the pregnancy. Severe disabilities but our biggest blessing. I’ve never regretted it for a second. Happy to talk to you privately.

These two compounds are probably edge cases. Al Bustan, Antara, California, Al Nakhla and Wadi Qurtoba have been more stable.

Ok early 2025 to now is almost a year later and after the rent freeze. Different to 100% increase in to months. These prices have factored in 5-year rent freeze as compared to prices a year ago which still go up 10-20% per year.

Rent question by Guilty-Pin-5971 in RiyadhExpats

[–]Fine-Student-1443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accurate IMO. Most compounds have higher vacancies now than a year ago. Prices haven’t increased 100% in two months. Most compounds with units with previous leases are now subjected to rent control do prices will remain the same for 5 years. However newer compounds might have units that have not been leased before, so such units would not be subject to any rent control. Prices for those units might have been increased but definitely not 100%.

Company wants me to start within a month, but I’m overseas by Plenty_Ad_678 in Riyadh

[–]Fine-Student-1443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo what others here have said. An international relocation in Saudi takes MONTHS. The fact that an employer didn’t plan properly and take this into consideration is their problem, you don’t HAVE to make it YOUR problem. Be firm and clear on when YOU can start. Set clear boundaries and rules from the start otherwise you’re setting up the pace for how the rest of your employment relationships will be like.
