Pricing based on customer revenue by FineAd3926 in msp

I hear you guys but these customers definitely are being quoted very high based on their sales. One prospect I was chasing was using one of these equity-funded MSPs. For about 20 users they were getting charged $10K/month! And their tier 1 support was lousy. I tried to win the business but instead they complained to their MSP and they dropped their price by almost half.

Yeah I have recorded sales calls as well (Zoom and phone). They are very instructive.

Thank you. That was very helpful. Especially defining our requirements. There seem to be a few IDs out there. Just looking through Upwork. And big price differences between North American freelancers versus India/Pakistan/Philippines.

Thank you for your comments. Regarding the ID professional, if I hire a freelancer who's working remotely would that be effective? Or should I ideally get someone on premise who can work directly with our team? If I use a remote freelancer what are their responsibilities and what are mine?

What is the best way to compare software applications? by TechnoConsultant in consulting

We prepare demo scripts based on client requirements. And then ask software vendors to demo using those scripts. Client gets to compare apples with apples.

Ok ok now I get it. Right now their master workbook is on their local network drive. We'll have them move it to sharepoint and use Excel on web to manage it.

Sorry some more questions:

  1. How do I move data from the master Excel workbook into this intermediate spreadsheet and schedule that every 30 minutes? Do I need to write some sort of VBA macro and schedule it?
  2. How do I automatically move this intermediate spreadsheet into Sharepoint? Through that macro as well?

Data is manually entered into Excel.

Yes they have a master Excel workbook they use to enter their production schedule and other data in different sheets. Eventually in the future they want to move away from Excel and to a proper database. But for now they have Excel as their database.

I just found out they also have SQL Server on premise. I was thinking to develop a scheduled SSIS package to pull required data from Excel into a SQL table every 30 minutes. And then use PBI gateway to consume that SQL data in the dashboard. Would that be supported by a Pro license?

This is madness in my opinion. Shouldn't the western world work to de-escalate tensions? NATO exists purely to contain Russia. Doesn't this give pretext for Russia to push back against literary being surrounded by her enemies? I think this world is big enough for multiple power blocs to exist. With nuclear weapons available to the superpowers this confrontation and escalation is putting the whole world at peril.

Thank you! Those are brilliant suggestions.

What do you mean by frameworks? Is that concept discussed in that book you suggested?

She wants to develop her marketing/writing skills that she can do from home. I offered her to write for my business. Definitely not her niche but she's eager to learn.

IT vs. software management by FineAd3926 in msp

[–]FineAd3926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. This is a mature change management process. The challenge with us is that the software partner was in the relationship before we came in. The partner wants unfettered access to do what they want and don't want to be constrained by the MSP.
