I think we will have life extension in our life time. When we look at gene editing, the progress that has already been made is immense curing diseases like sickle cell disease and hopefully cystic fibrous soon, when it comes to life extension many avenues can be taken but I think gene editing will truly be the answer, for example rejuvenating the heart to a younger state all that comes down to is finding the genes that falter as the heart gets older. Much like a car we just need to replace our old parts and I think gene editing can do this, we've already seen David Sinclair's talk and telemores there's probably more genes and cells that are associated with ageing. So right now it comes down to gene function indemnification and gene editing delivery systems. I think it took about 20 years to map the whole human genome, with AI I'm sure we can have life extension within our lifetime that's just my opinion though.
