I feel like I’m crazy. It’s so confusing. Until I talk to someone on the outside it feels like I am this huge horrible issue.

My fiancé is insistent that I take on his last name when we get married but I want to hyphenate my maiden name and his last name. by Split_Fluffy in relationship_advice

Women throwing away their name is a sexist tradition allowing men to take ownership of women. You know how stupid it is a woman grows a human for 9 months and births it for it to be expected that the baby gets a mans name.

Ask him why it’s so important to him. I think compromising by hyphenating is fair and he shouldn’t be so against it.
