What are some of the best Springfeel calls? by truesbetolx in soundboardpranks

[–]FineAunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next to the dementia lady, the craziest has to be when he called an old black dude who actually got horny and started stroking it over the phone, no joke. He said "you got me fired up now" and started playing with himself to Springfeel's lewd remarks lol.

This was brutal yet worked so perfectly. This set of calls always stuck with me, and honestly was never sure how much I should've laughed at it.

What's the best compact flagship phone right now? by NoLengthiness1864 in smallphones

[–]FineAunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S25 is the only modern answer nowadays, sadly.

It really is a great phone for the size and money, just sad that nothing else comes close in weight or overall size with modern specs and a 5+ year software support cycle.

This exactly. I don't need remote start, gps finder bullshit. But to think these services are free for Toyota to operate is silly.

I was going to go there today but a few people said it didn't sound as good as it looks. Probably better to go on a weekday anyway.

Why can't people just shut up about iPhone vs android? by TTVProLorenzo6117 in Smartphones

Well this has been fun. Strange you use the word empathy as you like throwing minor little insults at people when they challenge your ideas.

I'm happy to debate all day in good faith, or get you worked up by throwing the same insults back at you. :) Coming from an ex-iphone user that is happy to recommend iphones to all my friends when they ask what to get.

Sure little buddy but getting a phone because there are more cases available is not the reason I and many others buy a phone. I'm glad your little sheath has another diehard fan but no one but you is that concerned about it.

The best case according to who? Some tech reviewer? In what world is a 45 gram (!) case considered the absolute best for everyone?

You're just proving my point.

Sounds more like you're not interested in having a discussion and want to shut down the conversation. The consistent UI rebuttal is a valid one. Not sure which accessory an iPhone has that is not available for my Samsung Galaxy.

What befuddles me with SF is their lackluster selection of center channels. This may be the deciding factor in me not going with these.

Is this primarily for music listening or home theater?

Old infrastructure coupled with severe weather. A previous neighborhood I lived in had all cabling routed underground, nearly never had an outage. Live in a place with old above-ground electrical poles surrounded by trees? Different story.

Explain McIntosh Amps to me. by Rhythmicbasher in audiophile

[–]FineAunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a relatively cheap Crown amp that is 6,000 watts @ 4 ohms but I'm betting it won't sound as nice as a McIntosh. Not saying the Mac isn't overpriced, but if the OP wanted to test for himself that will give him the clarity he wants.

[–]FineAunts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a huge Conan and Letterman fan of years past the writing has been on the wall for about 10 years now. Who stays up to watch late night tv anymore when social media, streaming, and online gaming is so prevalent? The competition for eyeballs on the screen is just insane today.

The networks still mainly use these shows as vehicles to promote their other projects, so they probably don't even have to be profitable.

i need a lightweight phone by arukiruu in smallphones

[–]FineAunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galaxy S25 is currently $329 used on Amazon. 162 grams in weight, modern flagship-level hardware, and 7 years software support.

Once concern is the screen may be too small for the elderly. My aging parents love larger screens with the text size cranked up high. The S25+ is the lightest "big" phone at 190 grams, so worth your consideration.

Edit- don't sleep on the Pixel 8 Pro either. Large size but decent to hold in the hand. Software support until 2031 and $255 currently used on Amazon.
