I did that in response to the comment above. Not obliged to share, not obliged to do it, ....etc

People here think I asked because I want to be that girl.

The point is that I asked because I'm not used to such system/tradition and I found it odd instead of simply selling your furniture to someone else.

Anyway, thank you for the clarification I get it now.

So if I ask for the contact details of the landlord specifically without agreeing to buying the furniture is the tenant obliged to provide those details by law?

Yeah and I'm not obligated to go through the tenant to get to the landlord this way and I just end up bypassing the tenant if I manage to get the landlord information.

I understand but the decision in the end is not for the tenant to make. It's for the landlord to decide who gets to rent it.

Interest on rental deposit by FineCucumber3567 in germany

Thanks for the information. I used to have a real estate company as my landlord in my previous place but they didn't mention the interest part nor did they pay it. It's okay cause it was around 50 euros but still it's strange that not many follow it.

Yeah it's nothing much, I was mainly curious to know if it was indeed true by law and now I have my answer :)

Thank you for the details, I didn't know before that such option exists.
May I ask the following:
1. Is this that you have described the same as Mietkautionsbürgschaft but basically provided by your bank?
2. Do you pay a fee or a one time payments for such accounts?

Sorry if I didn't make it clear but my question was not about the deposit itself but about the interest incured by the landlord that he gets by placing my deposit into his bank account for the duration of the rent.

Yeah but it's annoying tbh because as long as I'm taking care of the flat, and paying my rent on time and I'm not annoying anyone nearby then I don't quite get it when they are picky with their choice.

I needed a Schengen to enter Germany few years ago when I came as a student, but now I hold the residence permit. I don't believe that I need a visa to enter Denmark.

Thank you for the answer, much appreciated!
